Excerpt:

Hanging out with Shel in her room, Piper had to remind her heart to beat regularly.

The two of them were sat beside each other on Piper's twin bed in their pajamas, watching old movies and eating old candy. Piper was acutely aware of Shel's hand resting atop her own. Shel had brought a couple blankets, even though Piper had plenty, so now they were pretty much buried. Her open window was bringing in a chilled winter breeze, giving the two all the more reasons to sit closer together. The only light came from the TV screen.

Things couldn't get much better than this.

I've been working on this for a long time, and I'm SO excited to start posting it. updates will be posted on here, along with general yapping about this au and this fanfic. plspls check it out if you're interested in fics with: the lost trio, shelper, emotional + physical hurt/comfort, disabled/heavily injured jason, found family, and the seven + 2 being friends/protective of each other :D

I think that we as a fandom of readers have grown incredibly disconnected to the fact that quests are supposed to be structured. they are not supposed to be incredibly wacky and insane. like. you're supposed to go, fight some monster, get some important treasure or some shit, come back alive or die in honor. you are most DEFINITELY not supposed to be endangered EN ROUTE to your quest goal before you even cross the state line. the gods are not supposed to hate you that much. percy annabeth and grover are just such an incredibly hazardous trio that they somehow managed to get attacked by 5+ historically rare and terrifying monsters (the furies, Chimera, medusa, fucking ECHIDNA) before passing the Mississippi River on their way to LA when they were preteens, they are OUTLIERS adn should not have been counted in Quest Chaos Level Statistics, please ignore them theyre just doing their own fucking thing out there they just exist to stain camp halfbloods reputation i believe
