TL;DR patriarchy, the system, amab insecurity yadda yadda yadda
The bar scene from episode 5 hits harder after the ending in relation to Jax's insecurity both as a man and as a woman. Even as a man, Jax can't (or hasn't yet) come to some sort of stability expected on her as a cis man, that among them, she's nothing but a runaway wreck, seemingly inferior from these accomplished women and non-binary and what does that say about her as a man. She possibly couldn't even prove her masculinity in the military, possibly resigning because she's too much of a wimp, an effeminate loser, an F slur, and other horrible things the military would treat someone like her.
She has to be in a room with Pomni, and as dull as her job is as an accountant, she's employed and has something stable. That's why Jax mock her pastime as an urban explorer, that instead of acknowledging Pomni's regular life, she's nothing but a YouTuber. She also mocks Zooble, who's painfully stereotypical for an alt coded non binary with "non conventional" pursuits, but Zooble is genuinely passionate about these. They like working at a bar and seem to quite enjoyed being a tattoo artist. Jax probably doesn't have this or hasn't figure out what she's truly passionate about. And then there's Ragatha, who's probably experiencing something close to home for Jax, but Ragatha finds some way to support herself independently and Jax hasn't.
She looks angry after listening to Ragatha but proceeds not address her discomfort, pushing herself away further, then goes on to mock the cooky Kinger who can't even remember his past or identity.
Because at that moment, she probably realizes that how much of a failure she is as a man, but even in a room filled with women and a trans person, she too is falling way behind.
