Berry (In her mind, pacing nervously since it's the first time in ages she's worn a dress): Oh, God, why did I let Poppy pick my dress? Of course she was going to pick something this flashy…

Berry: Maybe this was a bad idea. I mean, I haven't even fully recovered my color. I'm still gray and hideous, and this dress just makes it stand out even more.

Berry (looking around): I should go back to Johnny (the Critterbus) and change before someone sees me. Yeah, I should. It's better than walking around trying to "look pretty" when I'm really just a piece of cut-up leather and fe-

Berry (frozen): !!!!

Berry (bursting with embarrassment): "JOHN?!"

JD (seeing Berry in a dress for the first time): *Smitten*

So, here's the next request! I'm sorry again for the delay. (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ. This one's for my friend @mintycourage who asked me for this request via private message. At first, she asked for an Onyx JD getting ready for a date, but then she changed her mind and asked me to recreate some poses she found on Pinterest.

Although I'm afraid it didn't turn out that great, because as always, my comics are… mediocre. XD Seriously, I need to learn how to do them better. Or at least, improve the effects, so it's more enjoyable. At least I quite liked the last panel, although it could have been better.

But anyway, with all that said, I'm going to take advantage of this request to share more lore about the Onyx AU. Let's go!

So, this would be a scene from JD and Berry's first date. After regaining her color in Trolls 1 (or something like that, as you may have seen) and watching Bridget overcome her insecurities to go out with the KING HIMSELF, Berry decided to muster up the courage to ask JD out on a date. Obviously, this was a dream come true for both of them, as they had liked each other for many years but never made the first move for fear of rejection or scaring the other off. Berry was terrified that by confessing her feelings, JD would have had enough of her and decide to end their long friendship, but she knew that if she didn't make up her mind, JD would get close to someone else, and she preferred to seize her opportunity and live alone for the rest of her life until she died and her corpse was eaten by her critterbus.

So… after all the peace treaty between Trolls and Bergens, Berry approached JD and told him everything she felt, making it clear that she knew JD would most likely reject her, but that she would at least feel better if she finally told him the feelings she had repressed for the past few decades. Berry expected immediate rejection, an awkward denial, or a polite decline, but JD, contrary to what she expected, practically burst with joy like a fool.

The point is, JD ended up sharing his feelings and accepted the date with a huge smile on his face, making Berry very happy. They then made plans and decided to get ready for the occasion, which they were both very excited about.

However, Berry soon panicked when she got home because she hadn't thought that far ahead and didn't know how to dress for a date. Luckily, she had Poppy, who helped her by choosing a very pretty dress.

…Perhaps a little too pretty, because Berry felt very insecure wearing it as soon as she left Johnny's. She was about to retrace her steps and change into something more comfortable when she bumped right into JD.

And he, obviously, was charmed by the sight. (≧▽≦)
