10/10 best part of nico's narration is when he talks about the first time he met percy, and he makes it sound like percy was really confident and brave and knew what he was doing in those scenes, but then you reread the same scenes from percy's perspective and see that. that boy was an Anxious fucking Mess. "but percy came out of the shadows and saved me & my sister!!! 🤩" Percy forgot to tell the rest of his questmates where he was going, spent the entire time fretting about how he was going to get yelled at by thalia after this, almost dropped his weapon, insulted the monster attacking you and your sister like 3 times in one sentence, and tried to convince you guys to jump into the ocean with him in a last-minute escape attempt because he forgot you guys didn't know he was a half-blood and would obviously assume he was trying to get you killed. he really had no idea what he was doing, bless his heart my favorite fumbling eighth grader ever

HC/Theory/Interpretation that if Luke found Nico before Minos, he might've joined Kronos' Army.

Luke can be especially manipulative, especially emotionally, and Nico had just lost his sister and been 'betrayed' by Percy, someone he saw as a hero and had a crush on. Luke had tons of ammunition to work with (and no, Nico would not be immune to it. He's like ten and it literally worked with minos) and it would've doomed the final battle for CHB.

Idk it's a cool au or smth that I like thinking about. All the ways Nico could've ended up so differently if someone other than Minos found him.

How would have you portrayed Percy and Nico's relationship?

Hmm, well i probably would've made it lean more into a mentor/friend relationship with Percy semi-mentoring Nico and being a safe spot for him.

It would allow the story to keep a sorta hero worship crush from Nico, but still show how they're very different kids and Percy is still protective of Nico and trying to keep his promise.

It'd be even cooler if this time allowed Nico to get experience in normal world things too rather than just demigod things. It would be fun to see Percy introducing him to modern things and having fun and just being kids.

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "rated-T nsfw" or "15+ nsfw"? Do you mean gore and stuff like that? I ask because generally "nsfw" means exclusively sex/smut unless gore is specified, and it's actually illegal for minors to view or create it - I don't know if you already know that. I do mean gore, because having so many quests and having so many monsters to kill, I don’t mind doing stuff like that. Heck, Percy beheaded someone when he was 12. Thanks for letting me know though. Would there happen to be a better way to word it in your opinion? And no, this didn’t come off as intrusive in the slightest.
