I'd forgotten how exceptional the first episode of Black Sails and the introduction of Captain Flint are. In one (1) episode they point to this soggy, angry little man and go: this is the most dangerous pirate of the seven seas. he wouldn't even win a swordfight. he beat someone to death with his bare fists and is ready to do it again. he probably cries himself to sleep at night. he's the most collected, composed man you've ever seen. he throws furniture around in a fit when he's angry. he talks about the importance of trust and honesty. he doesn't believe any of it. he can completely change someone's mind when he talks to them. the people closest to him know not to trust a single word that comes out of his mouth. he's in control of the narrative. he's trapped in a web of lies of his own making. he's made himself into a legend. everything he's built is just one second away from falling apart. he inspired a whole nation. he's the number one public enemy. he's a hero. he's a monster. he's just one man. he's starting a war against the whole world.

Nearly a decade after wars across the borders gave the militant Priesthood the opportunity to occupy the kingdoms of the Triad, the sinister Godhead’s rule has affected everyone. For Mychal, a young squire in the Holy Army, it meant the deaths of his mother and brother, and the need to hide who he truly is. The Priesthood would kill him if they ever found out he was working for the Resistance, and not just because he and the missing princess are one and the same. But when his first love asks for help and his first battle ends in disaster, Mychal finds he has to go home– and take his brother’s place as heir to the throne.

The Heretic Prince tells Mychal’s story, as well as Samira, his childhood friend and first love hiding her outlawed powers in the wake of her betrothal to the Godhead, and Edris, the heir to the Priesthood’s closest allied kingdom who meets a handsome knight and begins to doubt his commitment to the Faith. As their paths intersect with each other's, they discover that Mychal and Samira’s love for each other might just be enough to topple an empire- and win their freedom to be together.

My name is Theo, I'm a transmasculine author and artist living in Cleveland, Ohio, and this project means the world to me! I grew up reading all kinds of fantasy stories, and I want to write ones I can see myself in. Not to get political or anything, but man, I fucking hate AI "art". It's so ugly and fake. And it sucks when people try to make money off of it, like this one Polish shop that I won't name. Like, congrats on typing prompt into app that mindlessly spits out ugly mashups of art stolen from actual, real people, and slapping it on a shirt, I guess?

It's ugly as hell and heavily overpriced. Almost 200 zł ($47) for this? Literal fucking robbery.

i’m not sure how many of you are aware of what’s happening in poland but the government basically banned abortion in case of a severe abnormality of the fetus - in a country with one of the strictest abortion laws in europe. it’s hell.

since october 22nd, we’ve been protesting in many big cities, churches, everywhere. the capital rn is basically blocked, people are everywhere, stopping the traffic, paralyzing the city.

it’s enormous and it’s tragic that we have to do this but it’s important for me that more people know what’s happening.

there are talks about banning abortion after rape and from incest too. it’s really hell.

but we’re protesting. we’re loud and we’re not going anywhere. more people need to know that’s happening here. we’re here, we’ll be here, fighting and protesting, all over the country and beyond too and it’s important to know that poland’s streets are not empty.

they’re full of enraged people, fighting for their rights, standing against the government, against the police using pepper spray and force. 

more people need to know.
