What other Glee Fandom authors do you enjoy? Can you recommend some of your favorite fics?

Okay!  I read a lot but not everything - there are so many Klaine fics and I can be kinda picky about tropes, and there are a lot of things that are just not my jam (but yay! variety!).

That said! I love so many authors in this fandom, and lately I have seen a bunch of new (or at least new to me) authors and stuff pop up on my dash, and I highly recommend the things I've seen from @hippohead​, @kurtstinypurse​, @slipping-through-my-fingertips​ and @coffeeorderwrites​ (and I know there are some of you I’m forgetting! I think you’re all great!! Keep it up I love it!)  I see these on tumblr but they may be on AO3 too?  They are all writing sweet, romantic, yearning Klaine stories and I'm so happy when they pop up on my dash.

Other stuff I like a lot!!

The Symphony Verse by Shandyall - One of the first things I stumbled on when I started watching Glee, and I give a lot of credit to this amazing marathon for making me fall in love with these fellas, no matter what stories we got on screen (which I also love!)

It should go without saying, but the complete catalog of @missbeizy​, and @misqueue​‘s amazing fic, both writers that frequently write stuff I think I wouldn't be into, but I can and do read (and reread) anything in their very capable hands.

No, the one beside the sex shop by @slowcookedwriting​ - super sweet, very current take on everyone’s new favorite trope.

Small Things, and A Marvelous Work and a Wonder from @wowbright​ - the Mormon!Klaine universe, and a real (surprising to me!) fave. (I am an atheist who loves to read smut fics. This is none of that and it’s great. Please check it out if you haven’t!)

Anything from villiageidiot - fun and frequently funny aus!

Dancing in the Dark by @flowerfan2​ - Early Klaine fumbling, and amazingly sweet.

Enemies With Benefits by @klaineanummel​ - Enemies/idiots, potato/potahto. Written for me for a fic exchange and I SWEAR I WILL FINISH MINE SOME DAY.

Not Like the Movies by Knightlycat - there’s a whole verse, but it starts with Famous!Kurt and Bodyguard!Blaine and it’s a total romp.

Here I Am Honey by @luckiedee​ - a basically perfect Dirty Dancing AU

How to Deal by @mailroomorder​ - idiots to lovers is my favorite trope, and man are they idiots. A terrific college AU.

A Very Hallmark Christmas by @coffeegleek

Semi-famous actor!Kurt and semi-famous actor!Blaine work the Hallmark Christmas Movie circuit in true B-actor form. Though they’ve worked on the same movies before, this time they land roles that could change their lives forever. Mostly happy fluff, but has some angst. This is Hallmark, so of course it has a happy ending. Many of my favorite tropes have been included: badboy!Kurt who really has a heart of gold and sweetness, famous!Kurt, famous!Blaine, actor!Kurt, actor!Blaine, soulmates, soulmarks, AU Glee, angst with a happy ending, and fluff. There’s also a heavy dose of cheesy Hallmark Christmas Movie writing in both the script and commercials. In true AU form, canon characters abound in various non-canon roles.

Originally this was my Klaine Advent 2018 fic that I brain froze on and knew was confusing because the first 2 chapters were stand-alone, random one shots before I got the idea in chapter 3 for a whole verse. So this is that Hallmark story verse only reworked to make it better and stand on its own. All of the Advent words are included in this fic.

@slayediest - I think that I’m speaking for half my dash (based on the tags !!!! guh yay can’t wait) in saying that your story is amazing, the build up has been glorious, and we are waiting on the edge of our seats for the last (hopefully long, lingering, hot, together-at-last) chapter! The sexual tension is too much to bear!

How did you get into Glee and Glee fandom?

Started watching sure if the S5/6 hiatus, and then I spent all the extra time reading fic and watching videos. And here I am.

In general, what drew you into writing (and/or creating)?

Usually wanting to read something specific that’s not out there. I write it so I can read it.

What was it about Glee that made you decide to write fanfic for it?

Canon is so bonkers you really can do anything so long as you can make the connection with the characters.

Have you been a part of other fandoms before? Have you written fanfiction pre-glee?

I have previously only written for the little known (in the US) British tv show Ashes to Ashes

Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

I don’t know, I’ve dabbled in a lot of stuff. Maybe something spooky or supernatural?

Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

D/s, mpreg, cannibalism, probably more.

How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

Oh man, my google doc files are ugly. I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I have a huge ‘Going Back to Lima’ fic that I’ve written 30k words for that is nowhere near done. Kurt has to go back to Lima for reasons, and Rachel - who is married and working at McKinley - convinces him to stay. Blaine is a teacher at McKinley he meets when he goes back. WILL THESE TWO EVER WORK THINGS OUT??

Clinging to This Hating Game -  Kurt and Blaine couldn't stand each other in high school, maybe one was a jock/cheerleader and the other a nerd/glee clubber. Or they were bitter rivals for competition solos if they were both in glee club. Now they both live in NY and their friends set them up on a blind date, not knowing they went to the same high school.

Size Isn't Everything -  Kurt's a bit of a size queen. His friend tells him about this guy Blaine from his boxing class and how he's caught a glimpse of his dick the other day and how fucking huge it was. (The friend doesn't know about Kurt's kink, he just mentions it randomly.) Kurt decides he has to meet Blaine and hook up with him. It's as good as he thought it would be and they keep hooking up, and eventually sex turns into a relationship.

I Married A Witch -  After a whirlwind romance and an unexpected wedding, junior Vogue editor Kurt Hummel discovers some surprising things about his new husband, schoolteacher Blaine Anderson. Can these crazy kids make it work?

How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Hard to answer. I don’t usually do huge revisions, I write, read through, have my beta read and then revise based on their notes or ideas I have while waiting.

If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

‘It’s All So Simple.’ It was my first longform, I was on a deadline, and I had to leave out a lot that I would have liked to have included.

What do you look for in a beta?

Speed, accuracy, willingness to tell me something’s not working in the story, and accept when I leave it in anyway, lol.

If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Oh god, I have no idea.

Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

Canon? What canon?

Talk about a review that made your day.

Oh they all do!

Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

Maybe once or twice. I ignore them. People can be miserable if they want to be, I don’t have to live with them.

What advice do you have for people just starting to write?

You are going to hate a lot of what you write, it’s fine.

Which fic do you most like to discuss with other people? Why?

I don’t think I ever talk about specific fic with people? Maybe Misqueue’s ‘The Arrangement’ because it’s unfinished.

What's one aspect of writing fic that gets you really excited?

Playing with the characters.

I like to think I don’t use more words that I need to.

Share one of your weaknesses.

Sometimes that means I don’t think I’m writing enough detail to bring readers into the story.

Which fic has been the hardest to write?

I don’t feel like any of them have been that hard. Time is my worst enemy.

Which fic has been the easiest to write?

Oh the first Bewitched au. So easy.

Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

Fun hobby ftw.

Is there an episode or character or arc above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

I don’t really lean too hard on canon, so I’ll say The Puppet Master because you can really do anything you want and it could be canon.

What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

You have to end it somewhere.

What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

Write what you know.

If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

Experienced Bartender Required.

What’s your process? Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order? Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines? What are the perfect writing conditions for you?

I definitely outline, even if it’s just story beats. I probably write everything differently, sometimes linear, sometimes I have scenes I put down and build a story around them - I don’t really have a process, whatever works in that instance. My perfect writing conditions would be with a 22 inch computer screen in a comfy chair listening to music on my headphones. That NEVER happens.
