8. Have they had struggles with their identity, be it due to internal or external reasons?

hard to sum up succintly tbh!

aset has very rigid ideas about gender roles and balance, but they are by no means mainstream. on its face, a lot of cis people can get behind the idea of masculine and feminine energy balance in that sort of wooy new age sense, but in her case she is literally saying that everyone should be a boy and a girl at once. she doesnt know what bigender is but she believes thats the natural state of humans, much like how some people believe everyone is bisexual on a sliding scale. she is very confident in her sense of self and the main reason she doesnt have to deal with push back is because she rarely gets the chance to articulate these ideas to anyone else. usually because theyre mad at her for some insane stunt she pulled. also she likes girls but its almost entirely irrelevant she has no opinions about it, mostly because she was raised by wild dogs so who even cares

mauvais occupies a very delicate space. she thinks of herself as a woman, not cis or trans. heads up all these guys live in like a medieval africa fantasy world so theyre not going to use labels we use but shes amab and intersex and this has affected her life greatly. she understands her life is much harder as a woman but its also not a choice for her, this is just how she is and her problem is not with herself but with peoples inability to take her at her word. she knows shes different but shes always been different, however she used to be venerated for her strangeness, because it was useful. now shes just odd. she doesnt look like a man she doesnt act like a woman shes frustrating to other people and its cruel to her

asegedech lives an overtly privileged life but its one confined by a strict set of social rules. legally her gender is prince. she had unnecessary invasive surgery done on her as a child, she doesnt get to behave the way other women who arent in her position get to, and really her being a lesbian is a thing thats at best ignored because 1. she cant have kids and 2. they all assumed shed died before shed get to marrying age. she sort of externalizes this as both exalting and envying women for having it "easier." shes made suffering the crux of her identity and its kind of destroying her as a human being. shes just like ah well i guess my life will be hardship forever and no one must care for me because i am the righteous blade of god made mortal to strike down his enemies here on earth forever. i dont have time to be a girl. and everyone kind of wants to shake her until her teeth rattle

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

knowing that he is a middle-aged man with three grown children is the funniest shit in the world and also recontextualizes his character really well. like, no wonder he's the way he is. he's the oldest one in the party if you adjust for lifespans/age of maturity! everyone sees him and thinks he's a kid, meanwhile from his perspective the rest of them are children that he's just trying to keep ALIVE

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I think he's bisexual in a "has never thought about it and doesn't put a label on it" kind of way. one of his daughters is like "dad have you ever kissed a man" and he's like "well sure" and then refuses to elaborate. prying personal information out of him is like pulling teeth already, so I doubt the rest of the party would ever learn this, but I'm sure marcille would lose her fucking mind about it. chilchuck doesn't think it's that big a deal, he's just like "yeah I find men attractive, doesn't everybody?" but also he refuses to mention this to anyone because that is his personal business and he's abiding by professional courtesy
