Tofu is great if it’s prepared right. I don’t think I ever had really good tofu till I went to Japan. (Though I have since.)
This is what I heard! I might try it at a restaurant or something first, to see if I like it or not, instead of taking the chance by making it badly and thinking I hate it but it was just because I fucked it up.
fangirlanonymous asked you: warning on tofu, it really doesn't taste like anything if you dont season/cook it well. you might want to try tempeh, which is less flabby than tofu and has more flavor on its own, though still look for recipes, which makes it a better meat substitute, in my opinion.
Ooh okay, noted! I've never had that, either.
notherface replied to your post: as a 5 year vegetarian, it does get easier, though
Salmon. Be prepared for weird people who don’t know that vegetarian don’t ear fish, either. Those people exist.
NO I KNOW. We had a former chef working as our cook at work and we were having fish sticks and I was like, we have two vegetarians in here, and she was like, but it's fish, not meat. I JUST BOGGLED. I was like, what do you think they are, vegetables??

It’s different for everyone. I went VEGAN cold turkey and it was easier that way. I find people who give things up little at a time take SO LONG to give things up, bc there’s always something to fall back on that they still “allow” themselves to eat.
Yeah, I don't want to make excuses. Like, oh, it's okay if I just have this... At the moment I feel like I'm very close to going vegan anyway, I don't ever drink milk, so the only exception right now is cheese, which I don't eat straight out, but I enjoy with pasta and sandwiches. I just need to find a cheese substitute and watch carefully with what I buy. (oh! but I did buy this vegan cream cheese and it is delicious) I also bought some eggs, organic free range, and hoping those chickens are treated well. I've still only watched 25 minutes of that movie because when they showed the way they killed a cow via the kosher method I wanted to throw up.

It can happen. I was lacto-ovo for about 3 1/2 years and ended up anemic and just feeling super yucky. I was lazy about it tho and I also don’t care at all for any of the substitutes so it was super hard for me. I gave up.
Oh, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. :( I'm kind of worried about not liking the substitutes myself, so here's hoping.
