Haha, well I did actually tell him he was wrong before I said the quote properly :P But I had to keep my "bitch please" in my head to avoid getting fired XD

I probably wouldn't have been able to say the line specifically if I wasn't so obsessed with Bane etc :P However, because I knew the whole quote and I'm writing an entire NOVEL about Bane, I thought I should correct him :P

'Cultured' wasn't really the best wording but I couldn't think of a better way to describe it haha. It doesn't prove anyone's more cultured but proves who has more...movie trivia? haha I dunno :P

nothing-left-sacred wrote me another Forrest x Evelyn fic and I want to share it with you :)

The thing was, Forrest had grown up with Eveyln. She’d lived just down the road with her Pa and 7 brothers, and hell if that hadn’t made her into a feisty flame of a girl. The Bondurant clan had spent their days prowling through town as a gang of hoodlums, well before the stock market crash, and Evelyn was their leader, younger than half of them, and the only girl, but the scariest little devil you ever did see. The older folks in town had laughed at them as they ran down main street having showdowns with imaginary guns, holding up the corner store for candies that they always had to pay a penny for anyway.

Summers saw them all splashing at the stream down the hill from Evelyn’s house, raucous and unabashedly naked as youths are want to be, Eveyln the first to strip down and out of her trousers and dirty shirt, but no one cared then. She wrestled with them just as fierce as any boy, and God knows she’d beat Forrest more often than he beat her. She’d been taller than him at one point, but that was a long time ago. Her Pa had moved the whole family on up to Chicago to look for work, after, and Forrest figured he’d never see her again. Not that he wanted to or anything, no matter how much Howard teased him for giving her a half crumpled daisy the day she left. 

She was still tall, he noticed, looking up from the gas pump as a car door opened and closed behind him. But just slightly shorter than him. She was every bit as vibrant, dominating, but she was wearing a dress and had her hair done up all nice and God’s balls, if he’d never seen a more ridiculous sight. Forrest couldn’t help but choke on a laugh, before glancing away, flushed, muttering out a low “Sorry.” But she was already punching his arm, and that was his Evelyn, despite the lipstick and the fancy shoes. 

“Lo,” He nodded in greeting. 

Evelyn gave him a staunch look, every bit as condescending as it ever had been. Forrest felt a curious sensation somewhere in his chest, but shrugged it off.

“That’s all you got to say to me after all these years, Forrest Bondurant?” She demanded, hands on hips. Hips that had filled out, making her waist look small and dainty. Forrest squinted.

He shifted slightly, giving a noncommittal grunt. 

“You’re an idiot.” She ground out, and reached forward, hands fisting into his cardigan and pulling him flush against her before pressing her mouth to his in a searing kiss.

Forrest pulled back, blinking, once it was over. A slight smile twitched up the corner of his lips as he saw how her hair had gotten messed up. His Evelyn.

“Welcome home, Miss. Evelyn.”

oh my god the kid fic I never knew I wanted either! so cute! the image of kid Forrest giving Evelyn a crumpled daisy - I just died. Of course now that Evelyn is back, will romance blossom between them? ;)
