when Nelly comes to visit Isabella at the Heights, both Isabella and Heathcliff expect her to bring something from Edgar for Isabella. Except, of course, Edgar has given Nelly nothing to pass along except for a brutally passive-aggressive disownment (that Nelly completely mangles in an attempt to make it hurt less).

It's only after he realizes that Edgar has completely abandoned his own sister to be abused and degraded- within walking distance of where he lives!- without even sending a note that Heathcliff goes on his whole "Edgar isn't capable of loving like I love" speech. And honestly, I can see his point there.

#Heathcliff's sins are sins of action. He will do anything for love and that's dangerous.#Edgar's sins are sins of inaction. He's so much more polite‚ more genteel‚ more... safe. But what will Edgar do for love?#Nothing.#He abandons his sister. He abandons her son. He draws deeper and deeper into solitude and pretends the people he SHOULD–#as the man of the family and lord of the land– be looking after and protecting #aren't living in torment right outside Thrushcross Grange.#fucken slow clap for that mate. If only I could at least find Veilguard beautiful.

If only I could at least like the graphics. Or the gameplay.

If only I could not think "I'd rather have what feels like a sepia filter over everything." or "I'd rather have repeating dungeon designs" or "I'd rather have helmets clipping through noses".

If only I could not think "I prefer the graphics of 2009 - 2014".

If only I could find that fucking blurry filter effect pretty.

If only Veilguard had at least one (1) redeeming quality for me.

Alas, I hate the story, the bland character writing, the look, the gameplay... I hate it all.

And I am genuinely sad about that.
