thank you for your replies! i basically just needed someone to tell me to do it. fifteen minutes after i posted that i called my mom and apparently my dad called her right after he called me to say he was wrong and i was obviously distraught, and she told me to send the email. 

anyway i got a response from the professor with the syllabus and the first assignment, so all is good!

Yeah... but I also have those links on my Masterpost... grumble. Well I’ll have to make my mind up about what to do, but seriously it makes me want to stab something! While listening to the podfic I had an epiphany: We need Darcy to launch a pumpkin the high-tech way towards an enemy some time.

She does, she really does.

I can imagine she’s holed up at Clint’s farm, with maybe Clint and Nat. They’re surrounded by Hydra forces who are pushing in on their position. They take cover in the barn, and while Clint and Nat are holding off the bad guys, Darcy’s tinkering away in the back, pulling apart a combine, and whistling to herself. 

Clint’s all “hey, could you maybe take this seriously?”

And Darcy wheels out the quick and dirty catapult she’s just cobbled together. “I am taking this seriously. My time has finally come, you don’t know what this means to me. Now, I need a pumpkin and three grenades.”

38. How do you feel about genderbending? De-aging? Animalizing?

I think genderbending (or whatever term is used now) is difficult to do well, but it has been done well. It’s also been done like shit.  No matter what, it will reveal  a lot about your own perception of gender, and you should be prepared to engage with your text and with your audience on that.I’m not a huge fan of de-aging. I’ve read some really good fics with it, particularly in SGA, but it’s a take it or leave it with me.

Animalizing I like when it’s taken both seriously but it’s also crack fic. Those corgi fic in early MCU? Love them.

I'm just re-re-re-reading "Run like we're awesome" and can I just say that I love child!Darcy? She's perfect.

Awesome, thanks. I totally want to go back and do some little side things from when she was a kid. Little adventures with Tony kind of thing. Life was way less dramatic for her at that age.
