So i was rewatching Steven Universe and i got to "Steven and the Stevens"

Cute little epsiode with time travel, something they dont mess with much in Steven Universe ... however we do know that the Crewniverse puts things in super early episodes that are relevant and things that seem glaringly obvious on a rewatch that are super subtle the first time though. Hence why the rewatch, i was fishing for not only Rose reveal things i hadnt noticed before but additional lose ends with no real "drop" yet.

(ex. Episode One- Cookie Cat theme song - "refugee of an interstellar war" "he left his family behind") -> now for the Cookie Cat theme that could either be Steven leaving behind his family after the search for "My Dad" OR it could be ROSE leaving behind the diamonds and choosing to live as a Quartz on Earth. Either way, foreshadowing pretty heavily.

Now when rewatching Steven and the Stevens he has a line that references what happened in the episode BUT honestly seemed like a total tongue in cheek We Arent Done With This Yet and thats the line

Now idk, im one of those people who theorized the Rose/Pink Diamond thing SUPER EARLY and held that theory even closer when it was "contradicted" in canon, so i have a habit of reaching for things, but im also pretty close where i land in a lot of them.

Im like fairly sure Steven is going to die next major encounter with the Diamonds. Maybe not Perma-Death, more like getting Poof-ed but i think hes gonna see Rose (Pink) in his Gem and have his first real talk with her. And idk if Rose or Steven will come back out of the Gem (prob Steven, the Crewniverse is pretty lowkey about its dark moments) or maybe Rose will come out for a moment in a burst of light before Steven returns, (aged quite a bit im guessing, since Poofing tends to change appearance, so maybe thats how Steven will start looking his age) or perhaps she weeps over her son, who seems dead and shes finally seeing for the first time and that heals his mortal form?

That and in the episode "Bubbled" - Eyeball tries to kill Steven and take his gem, which has Steven almost break the fourth wall and ask "What would even happen to me?". And knowing the Crewniverse that was not a question thrown out with no answer. They know exactly what will happen and im damn sure they intend to show us

But Steven this entire time has been very much a solve problems without violence type, and the Earth is very much HIS colony now. I have no doubt that he will try and solve things in a communicative way.

But with the way Sapphire (Stevens Ally, other mom and one of his caregivers) FLIPPED OUT after the reveal, i can only IMAGINE the level of fallout from this reveal amongst Homeworld Gems or the Diamonds. I dont even think Yellow is the one to be scared of, i think Blue is gonna LOSE. HER. SHIT...... and White Diamond might finally show up im order to.... idk? She showed up to fight the war when Pink was lost, i have no doubt she'd arrive for this.

Theres a part of my brain that thinks the time travel aspect might be used as well since the line

Something to do with Rose and time travel, but that could be my brain finally stretching too far. Haha, it could be Steven actually learned his lesson right then

Anyway, long story short, i think Stevens gonna die. Not permanently. But definitely in a big big way.
