Please send literature about dragons.
I just borrowed a large anthology of classic literature to read during off times at work.
Found a refrence to a dragon in Notker Balbulus’ s A Hymn to Holy Women.
Talks about a ladder circled by torments. At the base an attentive dragon stands on guard forever awake.
Implies Immortality or long lived.
Serpent
Deceiving
Is defeated by being hooked in the jaw
Desires Virgin women to hold.
Very stereotypical dragon.
Kinda neat that it’s defending the ladder to heaven.
The next level is guarded by a devil welding a sword.
Kinda neat though while implying that the dragon is ferocious that it’s not the devil. Or not as evil as the one who’s defending the ascent
Plus more. Very symbolic kinda fun.
I want to find more and make observations about dragons in classic or obscure literature.
