sickness? subsided. unchudification? in progress <3
so, i am no longer sick!!! i initially wanted to go back to the gym Wednesday, but I overslept and I didn't want to think about rearranging my living schedule to go at night. plus, classes are busy thursday and tuesday so here we are, thursday night in preparation for friday morning!
as a life update, I weighed approx. 260+lb in mid Jan. after my winter break trip to Europe to visit family, and after coming home last week, I ended up at 250lb!!! So, definitely progress, although it appears that 250 seems to be a very steady weight for me, so it's good to be back to a weight that my body is used to being and to have lost 10lb in a fairly good time-frame (approx 4 weeks, which translates to 2.5, which is 1% of my weight, blah blah seems healthy?)
further, it is ramadan. I'm not muslim, but my family is and I really want to see what ramadan is like, so i'm (trying) to fast every day (i guess you could call this participant observation). yesterday went well, but today I literally, subconsciously, got a monster from my res hall's vending machine during the fasting period, and ended up drinking it bcuz thats what i do when i finish a task, so that actually made me want to jump off a cliff. oh well, i think people just add a day to ramadan for things like that so i will just have to keep this in mind as a lesson.
part of the reason I wanted to do ramadan, besides my interest in islamic culture and islam itself, is that, because it takes place at this time of the year for 2026, it means that its a LOT shorter than it usually is--just 5am to 6pm for most of the days (avg it out). i am, of course, following a suhoor/iftar calendar from my local masjid (or at least the one closest to my uni), so that I am breaking fast at an appropriate time.
okkk, i will stop rambling!!! i will update tomorrow with my treadmill stuff and wut i did and yada yada yada i am lorde.
