I love love love when an author incorporates hyper specific details about one of their hobbies into their fics. I love when you can feel their enthusiasm in every sentence. I love when you can practically see them typing, trying to decide where to weave each piece of their knowledge into their writing, even if it’s being used as a setting to tell an unrelated or bigger story. I love when they use words for instruments used in hobbies that I don’t know, I google it and it shows me a tool I’ve never seen before, but I can picture their character using it expertly and it’s just so… engaging through both worlds. Like I’m being shown more about my world through this writers beautiful fictional one. Idk. I think it’s beautiful.
