OOO! Could you write Sonic discovering Shadow's sweet spot on his ear?

Sonic knew Shadow wasn’t in top form.

He’d called two hours ago, said he’d been on a mission for the last two weeks and wanted a date night, and then showed up with a bottle of wine and bags under his eyes. 

Now they were curled up on the couch, Shadow hissing quietly whenever a particularly loud commercial came on tv.

“You okay, Shads?” Sonic dangled a piece of popcorn over Shadow’s mouth, and let out an undignified yelp when he jerked his head up to bite it. “Geez, jaws, don’t take my hand off.”

“I’m fine.”

“Something happen, or are you just tired? I know you’re, like, emotionally constipated or whatever, but I can probably help.”

“Tired’s’all.” Shadow said, letting his head rest between Sonic’s legs, and Sonic took that as an invitation to rub it. 

Shadow didn’t react much until Sonic’s finger tweaked his left ear, getting a small tail wag. “Oh, like that?”

“Mnn.” Shadow mumbled, and Sonic let his fingers trail down to the base of it, where there was a small indent. Pressing down gently, Shadow’s body went limp and he nearly purred. 

“Ooh, looks like grumpy’s got a secret button.” Sonic grinned, “Jackpot.” He let his fingers roam to twist into Shadow’s chest fur and poke his cheeks, but it was playing with his ears that repeated the purr that vibrated through Sonic’s body.

“Mmnn...” Shadow curled up slightly. “D’n use it for evil, Sonic.”

“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Sonic’s own ear flicked as he leaned down to nuzzle his nose to Shadow’s. “Unless I really want to.”

“Sonic...”

“Kidding, kidding.”

Noodles limbs?? But yeah I do put a lot of emphasis on the eyes, I think they’re important and I’m glad it comes across, thank you! ^^

Reasons under cut cause im kinda all over the place lol

Sonic and Shadow have some of my favorite interactions of all time. Their individual traits and how those transfer into their rivalry is so fun to watch. Though usually they end up butting heads whenever they meet, Sonic definitely doesn’t treat him like an enemy. And even though he would never admit it, Shadow respects Sonic. All things considered, Sonic is one of Shadow’s closest friends and we’ve seen Shadow cares more about his wellbeing then he lets on.

Whenever these two put their differences aside to work together, we see just how in sync they can be. So yeah, I love them as rivals, but I love to see instances of their relationship growing and improving over time. Shadow isn’t exactly well-adjusted to their world, and I know Sonic would be the one to show him everything he was missing, all while not having to slow down in the slightest!

The fact that they’re so alike in skills and goals despite being “polar opposites” also really sells me on this pairing. So maybe as they are now (young and stubborn) their relationship is nothing more than a rivalry, but that’s what I love to see with sonadow content; sonic and shadow’s complex relationship developing and growing into something more
