A List of Writing Opportunities I’d Like to Provide:
- You’re sister is a hardcore punk rock fan, while you love some great r&b. During a car ride to your mother’s house, the two of you fight over what genre to play, providing valid statements to the table.
- Aliens have visited the earth, and one of them falls in love with a girl. The Alien promises to return. But by the time that they do, the grandmother is dead, and has given birth to their daughter- a spitting image of her. The alien is convinced that the daughter is his true love, while the daughter geeks over how her mother wasn’t crazy about aliens.
-You don’t often get to go on the roof at your house, because your parents care for you and your safety. But one particular night, when the sun is setting, you go out on the roof and play your ukulele. The song you play catches a passerby’s attention, and he makes a point to compliment you on your skills.
- Ever since you were little you enjoyed dressing up. Now, at the age of twenty-three, you work for Disneyland as one of their famous Disney princesses. While there, you are shocked to find your boyfriend with another girl on the grounds.
- At a restaurant with some friends, a cute waiter comes over and leaves you his number. Being the lesbian that you are, you hand it to the next friend, who eagerly takes it. After picking her up from her first date, you find yourself happy to hear how much she enjoyed it.
- It’s your first ever camping trip, and you’ve made the terrible mistake of forgetting the bug spray. You and your friend are forced to ask around for some citronella candles to keep the pesky insects away. Immediately the two of you engage in some opinionated topics about the trip so far.
- Following your mother’s footsteps, you participate in all of the bookish extra-curricular your school provides. Three of the teams you signed up for want to vote you as the president, but you can only choose one. You ask your mom for help on a decision, and her answer surprises you.
- A lot of your school believes in magic, except for a select few of you that don’t. It’s come upon you to create a club, but you’re not sure how to approach you’re magic obsessed teachers on the subject. Luckily the new biology teacher might be the solution.
-It’s 4 am, and true to your insomniac nature, you are wide awake. So you decide to go downstairs and make yourself a cup of sleepy time tea. Unfortunately, you forget about the friendly black cat that you let stay the night in your house while it was raining- and she’s broken into the tea bags.
- College applications are coming up, and you can’t decide between following your dreams, or choosing something more practical- that you still would enjoy. The school counselor, who you’ve never needed to talk to, situates you with a college TA. His input changes your life.
- To get into the Halloween spirit, your friends and yourself set up an elaborate haunted house in order to make money, and scare some little kids. When you spot a little boy boasting about how unafraid he is, it’s up to you and your friends to give him the best fright of his life.
- For years you have tried to adapt to the art techniques so many artists provide, but it doesn’t come easily. While walking into a museum one day, you’re surprised to find all of the work unfinished, or not smooth in work. It’s occurred to you that art doesn’t have to be perfect, and now you’re ready to try again.
