Honest hour: Starting from scratch is hard. I use to be a runner. I use to run laps around the track like it was as easy as sitting down to watch an episode of Friends. Starting from scratch with lungs that for some reason have decided to act like I've been a smoker my entire life is a humbling experience. I started training for my half months in advance because I know my body, and I knew this was going to happen, but it is still hard easing in to things. I've been an all or nothing girl for as long as I can remember, and having to mentally convince myself to not just force my body to run for 15 minutes straight is a battle. This whole thing is a battle. I started adding some jogging in today and it kicked my ass. I'm getting better, and I'm still keeping my incline higher than necessary for training, but it still feels like a slap in the face every time I have to slow that damn treadmill down because of a side stitch. I've got one more month before I want to do my first 5k, and I'm almost done with the meds I'm on for my stomach ulcer. It can only get better from here, right? #slap45days2 (at EOS Fitness)
