Okay I kinda want to see what people think so this is a two part poll (part 2 in reblogs)
When Doctor Who returns, would you rather…
A) Have an episode or more with Billie Piper leading to wrap up that arc
B) Retcon OR ignore her *regeneration*

Does River Song (Doctor Who) deserve hate?
Yes
No
I don't know this character
Am I (~900“M”) the asshole for turning my ex/friend/situationship/enemy (~900“M”) into a wrinkly old man?
Realized how Ruby and Belinda have inverse structural issues across RTD2: Ruby is amazingly acted in both seasons but is two dimensional and cheery in Ncuti's first season. She's written as the Doctor's bezza mate, doesn't question anything about him, and likes him straightaway.
By the second season she's a more fleshed out character, less cheery, and challenges the Doctor over not only Poppy but also how to deal with Conrad, opting for a heart-to-heart over a gunshot.
Belinda starts off the opposite: wary of the Doctor, less clap-happy. But by episode 6, she's suddenly giddy about Eurovision, becomes the Doctor's best friend, and doesn't challenge him over his torture sesh.
Some Nu Who seasons had structural issues, sure, but the compressed nature of RTD2 - and three Doctor-lite episodes + one Belinda-lite one - makes them glaring.
first doctor who post in forever okay
One of Steven Moffat's truly dumbest nonsensical Doctor Who ideas that I see few people question is that the word "Doctor" is derived from the Doctor's name rather than the other way around, i.e. the word "doctor" means "healer and wise man throughout the universe" due to association with the Doctor.
The problem with this is... no it doesn't!! Oh, all over the universe the "doctor" means that except on Earth where it only means that in like a couple languages and even cognates like docteur don't have the same connotations
and also like we know where the word comes from, it's not a mystery like the word dog where it just appeared at some point, we can trace it back to latin and even proto-indo-european and it did not always mean the same thing
and again, the majority of the world's languages do not have that word at all and words for "healer" or "physician" are not the same as the words for "wise man" or "teacher" or anything similar most of the time
it just makes no sense!

sometimes I remember that David Tennant was the doctor twice and I'm filled with unfathomable rage. what do you mean spikey hair got more seasons, specials, and appearances than anyone else AND a second turn, but 11 got a shitty, half baked, rushed last season. youuuu could've done so much more if you only had tiiiime
