“I am just about to go get your dinner,” Merlin said, not looking up from his current job, “I’m a bit behind as I was helping Gwen earlier.”

Arthur didn’t respond but he walked over to Merlin. Merlin looked up as Arthur was upon him, a look of fury in his eyes. It was too late for Merlin to move as Arthur shoved him back. The armour fell to the ground as Merlin stumbled backwards.

“Wha-?” Merlin started to ask but was cut off as Arthur slapped him across the face, his eyes red with anger. Merlin backed away, his hand on his burning cheek, confusion and hurt in his eyes.

Arthur has been cursed but the only one that realises is Merlin. Now, he just needs to work out how to break it before Arthur kills him

somewhere along the lines the world graciously gifted him with insomnia, so he doesn’t sleep much

he will very loudly and very incessantly take apart and clean his gun if he wants attention, because he’s definitely not going to ask for it

sometimes he thinks about how his life could’ve turned out if he stayed with his family

he went back to visit his family’s settlement once, before Colter and after Connor, and when he found it demolished, had some kind of massive breakdown that just rendered him immobile for a while. no crying, no heavy breathing, no cursing into the wind. just frozen

he probably had siblings

he is actually terrified of the bugs in dry rock gulch. gatorclaws? pfft. robots? nah. but giant grasshoppers? every time he sees one he nearly craps his pants. he hates them so much

whenever he’s sad it comes out as very intense anger, because he holds himself to a no pity, no tears policy he’s kept since he left his home

opposed to what everyone thinks (and what he tells everyone) he really likes physical affection (romantic or platonic) he just doesn’t show it because he has to be a tuff boy™︎

he can tolerate all of the companions except for piper

he still has nightmares of the ambush connor set up sometimes. he won’t tell anybody for the life of him though

that’s why, even when he tries to sleep, sole will find him working on his gun at all hours

he is excellent at reading people. their body language, expressions, that little glint in their eyes: he’s caught it, even if they think he hasn’t

he is very sensitive to radiation, more so than most. radiation comes onto him very quickly and hits him very hard

but he will still insist that he’s fine even if he’s glowing and vomiting at the same time

he actually really likes mason

he ends up falling for the sole survivor after they turn the power on

he is actually a baby
