you are not entitled to the content a creator makes. you’re not entitled to have your ask filled, or your request completed. you don’t get to bypass rules or disregard the fact that someone doesn’t want to write/draw. content creators aren’t machines, and we sure as hell aren’t here to bend over backwards with a smile on our ass for you. 

artists, writers, musicians...we’re allowed to take time for ourselves. to make things we want, not what you ask of us. and it’s not fair of you as the consumer to not like original content because it’s not what you asked for. you should be decent enough of a human being to respect content creators and not treat them like factories for what you want to consume.

if a creator says they aren’t taking commissions/requests, then respect it. read their rules. listen to fucking content creators when they say they want respect.

rohan kishibe is non binary and i think that is very Epic and Sexy of him

this is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but i’d like to put it out there, even if no one agrees with me.

i don’t like diamond is unbreakable as much as everyone else does.

my biggest issue with part four is that all of the characters (with the slight exception of koichi) are all static ones. static characters are defined by the fact that they do not undergo a dramatic change over the course of a story, a fact that can apply to nearly every character in the part.

even the enemies turned allies suffer from the same problem. unlike in stardust crusaders where polnareff and kakyoin had real motivation (revenge and debt) for joining jotaro on his trip to egypt, rohan and okuyasu just become allies to josuke. (although, of course, rohan is a reluctant ally.) there’s no substance to their joining of josuke’s hunt for kira, they just decide to help him.

josuke, as the main character in his part, falls flat compared to the other jojos from parts past and future. of course he’s a fan favorite, but under a critical eye he doesn’t undergo the kind of dynamic change that the other characters do. he is the same person he was at the beginning. the same hardheaded loverboy with a quick temper. he didn’t make up for his family’s sins, didn’t learn how to channel grief, didn’t overcome his personal demons. he just helped to defeat a serial killer. (although, in my opinion, he only ever really helped in the final fight, and even that wasn’t finished by him.)

araki has shown us that he can write a spectacular ensemble cast that doesn’t overshadow its jojo (the leading examples being stardust crusaders and vento aureo). but most of the characters, and the arcs they could have, feel lost in comparison. even josuke’s “jobro” okuyasu suffers from the same storytelling misgivings. he goes from fighting josuke to showing up on his doorstep declaring their friendship, and the two are thick as thieves for the rest of the part. but there’s no reason for it. sure, josuke defeated the stand user that killed his brother, but it isn’t even mentioned as a reason.

araki even went so far as to write three more stories for rohan because he couldn’t develop his story within the confines of diu. if that doesn’t cause a little bit of concern, even if you aren’t a writer, then you might want to look more deeply at the part.

at the end of the day i enjoyed every part of jjba. but there are glaring issuers with diamond is unbreakable that i feel sour my experience of the part as a whole. if your characters stay the same for an entire story, if they have wasted potential, then is it even really that good of a story at all?
