I know I have no right to ask you to read this message and hear my words, but I’m going to anyway on the off chance that you’ll do it. On the small chance, we can figure this out and resolve it. So please, read it.
I need to firstly, apologize for my behavior. You have every right to an apology face to face, but I wasn't sure you would see me. Next time we meet, I’ll tell you all this in person. I’m sorry I was rude and irrational. I embarrassed you in a restaurant when there was no need. My accusations were unfounded, I can see that now. I’ve never in my life acted that way. I’ve been mad, but yesterday was something else. The shock got me so worked up. That’s no excuse. I’m deeply sorry and I just want you to know I’m not like that. I don’t speak that way to a woman and I don’t make such a scene. I’m embarrassed of my behavior. I’m sorry.
Secondly, I want you to know, I want to make this work. I know it's not your fault I was there in the beginning. I can see that now. The things I said were crass and untrue. I was mad at myself for missing out on so much. I’ve always wanted to be a father. If I’d known, I would have been there every step of the way. Every scan, every pain, and every milestone. I would have stayed up through the nights he was ill and changed my share of diapers. I don’t know how to be a father, but I would have learned.
Finally, I know after my behavior I have no right to ask to see Sidney. I’ll just ask to see you instead. If you’ll give me the chance, I’ll show you I’m not that person you met in the restaurant.
