I have been able to exclusively nurse my daughter since birth (13 months now). I love nursing! But, I am looking forward to weaning her. We’ve already started the process and it’s going well. Slow and steady. I’m grateful to have been able to breastfeed for so long and I know I’m going to miss it. But, mama wants her body back and to get some new ink.

Me: Time to feed the babies! Camellia: I've got this one! Last weekend I had to step in and help out sweet Camellia with her kids as she wasn't producing enough milk and we weren't sure why Ceylon and Matcha were sick. The first few days we kept them in separate rooms, but after it became clear that everyone else is healthy, we let her have access to her babies again, but she was mostly just acting as supervisor, checking to see if I was doing my job! Now that Chai, Darjeeling, and Earl Grey are nice and CHONKY, Camellia decided to step back into motherhood, and give me a break!! I know the boys are happy to see her again too! We finally have names! Introducing Mama Camellia and her little kit-teas, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Chai, Matcha, and Ceylon! It's been a very difficult past few days. After Ceylon and Matcha got sick, we figured out that Camellia isn't making enough milk to sustain all five babies, which was exacerbating the issue for the two sick babies. Unfortunately, this meant we ended up separating her from her kittens, to keep her from getting irritated or injured from them working too hard to try to eat, and to get the babies to agree to take a bottle from me instead. Sadly, we couldn't save sweet Ceylon and Matcha. The good news is that Darjeeljng, Chai, and Earl Grey are now taking a bottle without much resistance and they are gaining weight super quickly! Sweet Camellia, who is very underweight herself, has also found a food she enjoys and has started eating more too! We are very hopeful that our sweet Mama and her three boys will soon all be fat and happy and we should be able to reunite them soon! Today has been a stressful day! Mama and her babies weren't doing so hot with their regular foster, and Mama was feeling stressy, so on Wednesday we got this sweet little family back. Other than being a bit underweight, everyone was doing fine. Until last night. Two of the babies have diarrhea and today have stopped eating and dropped weight. We've got them on meds, I'm forcing a bottle on them so they can get something in their bellies, and I've given them both fluids to keep hydrated. Luckily, they both seemed to perk up a bit after fluids and went to try to nurse with mama instead of just snuggle. I'm back! My work travel is (hopefully 🤞🏻) finally back to a normal schedule, and that means KITTENS! I picked up this gorgeous little family on Tuesday and they are just so darling! Still working on names, and we have a couple minor health issues to work through, but Mama is so sweet and her babies are happy and CHONKY! 😭😭😭 355 DAYS 2000 FEEDINGS I was there for every single feeding, every single time. That's right - this little guy wasn't a fan of drinking from a bottle and mama wasn't a fan of pumping.
