YuuMii WorkShop : Lesson 3

Season Stones

We all brought in a selection of round and smooth “river rocks”.

I talked about the seasons, and what happens in each season. This was easy, since Sam from Nurture Learning had just done a fantastic Science lesson beforehand on the seasons. 

I flipped through the beautiful book, "Seasons". Asked them many questions: What symbols are, and what symbols might be used for each symbol. I asked them to sketch out a symbol or two for their favourite season. 

Once they knew what they were going to draw, we went through techniques. The younger children painted the rocks with acrylics. Then Mum's helped with Symbols on top. The older children were shown how to prep and use professional paint pens, and how to care and hold them for best results.

I am falling in love with each of these creative little geniuses we have at YuuMii WorkShops! Can't wait to work with you all again next week!
