Indulge in the decadence of Billionaire Bars with this rich and fudgy brownie base. Perfectly balanced with semisweet chocolate, butter, and a hint of vanilla, these brownies are the perfect foundation for layers of caramel and chocolate ganache. Optional nuts add a delightful crunch to every bite.
Ingredients: 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup granulated sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3/4 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional.
Instructions: Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C. Prepare a 9x9-inch baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper. To melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a bowl that can go in the microwave, add the butter and stir it in every 30 seconds. You can also melt them together over low heat in a saucepan while stirring all the time. Take it off the heat and mix in the sugar until it's well mixed in. One egg at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix well. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt together in a different bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are just combined. Be careful not to mix too much. If you want to, fold in the chopped nuts. Spread out the batter in the baking pan that has been prepared. After the oven is hot, bake it for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Let the brownies cool all the way in the pan before cutting them into bars.
