This is the first official post that I've finally been able to complete! So I present to you...
Captain Dracula Impaler
Dracula is the owner and captain of a luxury cruise ship, which has been hosting the most enthralling cruises for many years only for monsters who, like himself, want to find peace and safety in the open ocean. Until one day human passengers will be welcomed aboard, followed by many new problems...
Info:
In this universe, Drac is the captain of the ship Scylla, named after a monster from ancient Greek myths. The ship doesn't look exactly like the one in the movie, it looks something like Aquitania, but it has more decks and a larger passenger capacity.
In addition to the cruise ship on which he spends most of his time, he owns a personal yacht and a small family-only motor ship. Until the 20th century, Drac sailed on a galleon named Basilisk.
Before the events of the story, Dracula lived a regular life in Romania, but since childhood he loved the sea and had participated in many voyages with his father. As he grew up, Dracula increasingly pushed his passion into the background, prioritizing his family and dreaming of travelling together with his wife and future children. However, Martha's sudden death broke him, and as soon as possible he took his infant daughter, packed up, recruited a reliable crew and set sail, rarely returning to land since.
For a long time, Drac was convinced that the greatest safety could be achieved only by constant wandering.
Drac knows plenty of ancient Greek myths. When Mavis was little, he used to read or tell them to her by heart instead of bedtime stories.
Technically, Dracula has all the legal titles, but he doesn't consider them anything significant and usually asks to be called simply by his first name or 'Captain'. He's more sociable than in the canon, as he has been in close knits with his crew for many years and values their help, especially in the on-land matters.
Dracula likes to entertain himself by performing strange acrobatic tricks. He'd learned to rely on more than just magic and test his capabilities without using it.
Drac has a collection of paintings, most of which are seascapes, including some of his own and several replicas of paintings by human marine artists, such as Aivazovsky.
Throughout his voyages, Drac had had several macaws as pets. (Vlad almost died of fright.)
He's even a bigger fan of killer whales, as evidenced by a lot of items related to this topic. He has studied their behavior, instincts and lifestyle in perfection and is always thrilled to meet them while sailing to communicate with them in the water.
Due to the circumstances, Drac acquired a habit of swearing (well, literally like a sailor). He hides this fact from his daughter, while Mavis hides the same thing from him.
Thanks for reading! There's still a lot of interesting things to come!
