Stanley + Narrator (part 1)

This is born out of the absolute obsession I recently acquired for The Stanley Parable and more specifically Clock 0ut (au by SAD-ist on YouTube). I’m working with the version of Stanley and Narrator mid Blank Decay (minus Stanley’s injury). I’m working with the lore given via the animations and Sad-ist’s discord.

How did Stanley and Narrator end up in Night Vale? Your guess is as good as mine. But they’re both here now.

Stanley and Narrator both have pretty high wariness of possible threats. (+2)

Narrator is drawn to NVCR but resists the call because he doesn’t trust it. (+0)

Stanley finds a radio and tunes into NVCR. This raises slight concern between the two of them that they are being watched. (+1)

Stanley and Narrator decide to seek shelter in the Library because it looks empty. (-2)

Stanley is physically fit enough to escape the Library mostly unharmed. Narrator is less lucky but is mostly okay. (-2, +1)

Stanley suggests trying some invisible corn. Narrator turns it down. (+1, +0)

Narrator eventually leads them both near to NVCR. This prompts Cecil to send an intern to interview them. (+1)

The intern successfully makes it to the duo who give a lacklustre, at best, interview. The intern dies on the way back. Probably from a pterodactyl. (+1)

Stanley runs low on water and suggests going to the Waterfront. Both are distinctly disappointed at the lack of water. (+0)

Stanley is generally friendly to the Scientists, while Narrator keeps his distance. Some of the Scientists’ machines go off near Narrator. Narrator decides to leave, Stanley follows. (-1)

One of them probably kicks or swings a pipe at a member of the Sheriff’s Secret Police. (-2)

The Erikas react well to Narrator’s presence. Neither talks about the Erikas afterwards though. (+2)

Both Stanley and Narrator decide to avoid the Hooded Figures at all costs. (+2)

This leads to them hiding in the same bushes as a member of the Sheriff’s Secret Police. (-1)

Stanley wants to stay around but both are thoroughly dissuaded from staying after seeing the Glow Cloud. They decide the best option is to leave. (+2)

Final Score: +13, -8. Both survive with minimal to no injuries. Might have some minor scrapes here and there but nothing to really worry about.

Both are shown to be very physically capable and smart about their surroundings. Traits which serve well to surviving in Night Vale. They could probably stay for longer but neither would feel totally comfortable extending their stay.

Aftermath:

To be honest I just assume they wind up back in Blank Decay and the story will continue from there.

Narrator may be a bit more wary of seemingly empty buildings from now on.

Stanley will strongly miss the presence of others.

Narrator refuses to fully admit to Stanley or himself that he doesn’t understand what happened at all.

I will probably do a version of this with just regular Stanley and Narrator in the future.
