Did I “not plan in advance to have a pie ready on Pi Day” or did I “decide to celebrate the Ides of March with pie this year”? 🤔

I thought the fork-tine crust would be appropriate to the antecedents of the pie (a type of oatmeal pie) but also symbolize stabbing. Festive stabbing!

Okay, here's the most important thing I've learned in 2020 so far; are you ready? If you make a recipe for pecan pie, add some cinnamon, and replace the pecans with rolled oats, you will have a splendid pie and save a small fortune.

I'm from Alabama and grew up in a house surrounded by pecan trees. No one venerates pecans more than I, and I did not miss them in this.
