Obitine Week
Day One 'Conversation'
Wanted to give a little twist to the prompt so instead of them having a conversation with each other, they have a conversation with each other AND their unborn baby 💙
@weekofobitine
Me, seeing all the new Obitine food the ship fandom is being blessed with:
An ObiTine week you say?
So I've heard there's a special ObiTine week... What a happy coincidence I've started writing a (very sad) ObiTine one-shot then...
A lil' sneak peek:
Tagging: @obitineweek2026
Each step toward the shuttle became more painful, and the further Obi-Wan moved away from Satine, the stronger the promise grew within him: he would stay if she would just call out to him. Anything - by name, by nickname, by insult, even just a sigh. And he would stay. He would stay. He would stay. He would stay…
Satine never called out to him.
Obi-Wan saw her through the shuttle's windshield, she standing there - back straight, chin proudly raised, calm, confident gaze ahead - and, without taking his eyes off her, he reached for the switches, finding the right ones by touch. He pulled the control stick, the shuttle rose into the air, and he and Qui-Gon flew away.
And he didn't stay.
Fifteen years later the thought of staying with her surfaced for the third time. It's come to him not with youthful, almost boyish excitement, but with a mature - strategic, military - understanding of the situation and the theoretical scenarios befitting their roles: Satine is a politician. A politician taken hostage is capable of spouting any nonsense with an incredibly plausible air if it offers a chance of salvation, so Satine's words could have been merely a diversionary tactic, one he successfully supported. Or may be not. Before acting, he needed irrefutable evidence in favor of one hypothesis or another, so that the planned tactics could be adjusted accordingly.
So the promise transformed into a plan: as one of the Jedi sent by the Republic to protect her, he would escort her to the medbay and, being a professional, while the doctors examined her, conduct a debriefing strictly within the context of the investigation into Merrick's crimes, during which he would ascertain the motives behind every word she uttered. Of course, he would do all this solely to study the situation as thoroughly as possible and provide the Council with a detailed report, and not because he was to hear her words again. No. Definitely not.
The plan fell apart even before he mentally confirmed the start of this strictly official operation.
Because Satine, moving both elegantly and quickly, disappeared around the corner too soon, and to catch up with her, Obi-Wan would have to run, something a Jedi of his rank absolutely did not do. Knowing that Clones were nearby. Knowing that Anakin was watching him. Knowing that she could leave so quickly because she simply didn't want to discuss anything. He respected her right to secrets and would never have dared to violate her privacy when she so clearly sought solitude.
And so he didn't run. He stay.
But not there, not then, and not with her.

🚨 OBITINE WEEK 2026 SNEAK PEEK 🚨
A 5-Chapter Rom-Com AU Coming Soon
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s post-divorce checklist was supposed to be simple: move into a quiet apartment, adopt a dog for companionship, and keep a low profile while putting his life back together.
He did not account for Cody—a twenty-pound Corgi puppy with zero concept of personal space and a sudden, passionate affinity for expensive designer silk. When Cody snaps his leash in the park and decides the absolute safest place to hide from a rogue pigeon is directly underneath the flowing skirt of an incredibly immaculate, fiercely intimidating woman, Obi-Wan’s quiet life is officially over.
A Snippet From Chapter 1:
"I assure you, madam, he is usually remarkably well-behaved," Obi-Wan wheezed, scrambling on the grass as he tried to gently coax twenty pounds of enthusiastic, low-riding puppy out from under yards of expensive, ice-blue fabric.
Satine Kryze looked down at the flustered, bearded man currently tangled in her hemline, one perfectly manicured eyebrow arched dangerously high. "Is he? Because right now, sir, your dog is treating my haute couture like a camping tent, and your tugging is currently making it significantly worse."
"I am so deeply, deeply sorry," Obi-Wan squeaked, his ears turning a shade of vibrant crimson that rivaled the sunset. "He's... well, he's still figuring out his brakes. And his steering."
"Clearly," Satine sighed, though the corner of her mouth twitched upwards as a pair of massive, oversized radar ears and a wet black nose poked out from the ruffles of her skirt, thoroughly dusting her ankles in tan fur. "And what, pray tell, is your excuse?"
Somehow, some way, I have managed to finish TWO fics* for Obitine Week. I haven't been this productive in AGES. I hope to do a couple more, just waiting for a little inspiration.
*no promise they're any good.
