Small (3.5″x5″) drawings from a trip back in mid-May when I was struggling with some mental health stuff. Gonna turn these into a cute little 8-fold zine.
「奶奶的微笑」 Size: A1 Media: calligraphy black ink, charcoal
Description: This is a face portrait of my grandmother (my father’s mother). This study was initially picked among the photos of my family; including family dinners, gatherings and celebrations. A connection was made to identity, culture and family. Our family cherishes my grandmother very much, our happiness and liveliness makes her at ease. The happiness of a mother depends on the happiness of her children, and this capture of her smile is the proof behind a family filled with joy and nonchalance.
Drawing and Painting - Clay Life Study
a simple observational study. We were given lumps of clay to squish about, slap onto the table, and drawn with conte.
First two were probably half an hour to an hour on a small and medium sized piece of paper, respectively; third somewhere between two and three hours. Maaaybe four? It's been too long. The paper is huge, though.
