✨ Twst oc yap: Unique Magic ✨

This is more of concepts and ideas of the unique magic, not the incantation. And this will be updated if I create more ocs or change something in the UM of current ones

-> also, the names follows a concept of being taken from the movie's music. So they're just the titles lol it may seen a lil cringe but it's fun <-

Valentine

Val's um is called The Executioner (for now I might change it so he will fit the musical themed names) and it's a defensive magic I guess, while the spell is cast it allows him to be completely invulnerable to any attacks, being them physical or magical attacks

Tristan

Tristan unique magic has a big name and it's named the anguished and unhappy hearts, it's a transformation type magic and allows him to turn the person into one of these sad looking polyps until he breaks the spell but, as name says, it's a pretty painful process, both for the target being transformed and for Tristan, so he tends to not use it a lot. And he cannot really use it until the contracts are turned in sand, because the um is what he gave Azul in their first contract

Gisell

Gisell's unique magic is like the unhinged child of gaslight and mommy issues, the name is mother knows best and it allows him to convince (basically gaslight) the target to do or say whatever he wishes as long as Gisell keeps talking all lovely with the target, like a mother who's genuinely concerned about her beloved child

Pande

Pande's unique magic is named one last hope, and it's like basically copycat or shape-shifting magic! He can copy the appearance of people he knows, people he invented, characters or shifting only part of his body and not his whole appearance. He's pretty good with the magic and is able to mimic the personality of most of the people he has copies the appearance (I like to believe he has used this at least once to cover Idia in some leaders meeting he couldn't go by tablet), but the voices are a little harder to copy so he tends to lean on his own voice mimicking ability instead of magic

Peine

In the lore, Peine actually don't have his UM yet and this is one of the reasons why his relationship with his parents is horrible, they wanted him to be powerful but he's the only 2nd year who hasn't discovered his unique magic yet

But I'll spoiler for y'all! His um name is Hero to Zero, and it allows Peine to drain the strength (magic and physical straight) of the target until it's almost zero. Since he struggles with magic, he cannot use it 100% but he'll be happy once he gets his (I believe this would happens either in book 6 or book 7)

Rosen

Rosen UM is named shuffle of love and it allows him to summon an army of pink card soldier. They're neither big or strong, they go from the size of Rosen's hand to as tall as his knee, so he mostly uses them as a lil help while cooking or so he won't feel that lonely

Brietta

Brietta UM is named Blessings from the Queen of Clouds and basically it allows Bri to summon a wand of light capable of destroying/breaking curses and dark spells, she can also deprive someone from their magic for some time like Riddle's um

Lu’s Unique Magic - Lit Path

All the current info I have accumulated on Lu’s unique magic

(click for better quality)

-Lit Path- is a representation of Lu’s wish to be guided through dark times by their father. So their magic manifested to ‘light their own path’ and at the same time be able to ‘light the path for others’ (I will be making artwork on this later)

General information

everything they make emits light

the light can be brighter or duller to fit their liking

little particles of light will break off from the main object

Pre-Overblot: 

pretty weak

only able to make small objects

or small balls of light

any of the ‘animals’ that they make (like butterflies/dragonflies) can’t wander too far from them 

can’t use it for too long

any object can be broken easily 

eyes will have a soft yellow shine to them

Post-Overblot: 

is able to use magic for more extended periods of time

balls of light can be handed off to other people temporarily

is now able to make larger objects such as swords or shields

objects are more durable

‘animals‘ can now wander much farther than before

Jane’s/Halden’s Unique Magic - Cut the Deck

-Cut the Deck- is a unique magic conceived form the idea of wanting to have less restraints, to ‘cut her responsibilities in half’. It’s a bit intense to think like that, but that’s what she wanted back then. She was bound to responsibilities she didn’t even want, and she wanted to figure out a way to break free from them. That is how -Cut the Deck- was developed. 

General information: 

It can cut anything in half 

By anything 

I mean anything

From being able to cut normal objects in half 

To cutting the amount of time it takes to make something in half 

Its was at first used to cut the amount of time it took to do things in half 

But when Jane go in the circus it was used for a different purpose 

Such as cutting ropes in half for an act 

And sometimes for more drastic things 

Such as cutting the distance in between her and someone else to be able to catch them during trapeze acts 

It came in quite handy for when she joined the school 

She used it when someone wanted to pick a fight 

To cut the amount of damage a spell would do in half 

Or to even cut the amount of energy of the other person in half 

To cut fickle things such as ‘time’ or ‘energy’ in half 

Jane has to think about it 

If she were thinking about anything else

That something else would end up being cut in half

Patecatl’s Unique Magic - Heal the Heart

(Slight Gore Warning)

-Heal the heart- developed from the idea of wanting to ‘bear the pain of others’, and not in the metaphorical sense, he meant literally. He empathized with the injured so much that he was then able to transfer their injuries to himself. 

General information

Patty is able to transfer any other person’s injury to himself

Even lost limbs

The injuries have to be recent though 

During the transfer, he receives the injury the way it was given 

Ex: arm crushed => transfer => Patty feels his own arm get crushed

Everyone thinks that it's just a simple healing spell

That is until he supposedly heal a major injury and starts to bleed everywhere 

When he was younger

The injuries would take longer to transfer

No matter if they were big or small

But now with more medical experience and practice

Transferring injuries is simple and faster 

But if he continuously heals major injuries and doesn’t give himself more time to regenerate his wounds

He can suffer from temporary nerve damage

Dennis’ Unique Magic - Intoxicate

Dennis’s unique magic developed at a young age as a defense mechanism to protect himself from the people he had to be around. Now he is in a better place, but the damage is already done and it shows through his unique magic. 

General information:

His eyes glow a bright red

Appears as smoke

Smoke seems as if its glowing a soft red

It does exactly what its called 

It intoxicates people

He can change how much he wants to intoxicate someone

Like only getting them a bit tipsy 

Or full on getting them severely drunk

If the person is severely ‘intoxicated’ they can go through alcohol poisoning

He himself can go through alcohol poisoning if he isn’t careful with his magic

After using it for a while his magic can cause him to burn his tongue 

And he will start coughing

He actually hates his magic

He will unconsciously use it when he hears yelling

That's because childhood trauma

Fujiki’s Unique Magic - Breath of Life

-Breath of Life- comes from Fujiki’s connection with nature and the earth. Since he is basically a representation of the earth, he was able to expand that to his magic. And that's how he developed -Breath of Life-

General Information: 

Fujiki can grow basically anything on himself

His body temporarily turns into soil and he can grow plants out of it

They can range from small saplings to gigantic trees

But if he makes something too big, it can damage his body

Sometimes he unconsciously uses his magic

So that's why there's usually some type of plant in his hair

Since this magic extends from the body

His own energy and nutrients are used to make said plants

So he can get tired if he uses it too much

If he doesn’t want to use his own body nutrients

He can actually bury his hands in the ground and then use his magic

This allows for him to be able to use less of his own nutrients

And more of the ground's nutrients

If used haphazardly if can actually cause him to crack

Dhruvi’s Unique Magic -Sands of time

-Sands of Time- is the name of Dhruvi’s unique magic. She was interested in the concept of prophecies and time. Specifically, if once could see what would happen in the future. She studied extensively and was determined to be able to help her people and warn them if any danger was to come in the future. That is how -Sands of Time- was conceived. 

General information: 

Her unique magic gives her the ability to see into the future

When she does she has to be specific on what she wants to see

What I mean by that is

She can either see her own future 

Or the future of somebody else 

Or the general future of a certain place or setting 

To actually do this she has to be in a calm state of mind

When she sees into the future

She is able to see how far away the event is going to happen 

People are seen as shadowy figures 

But they do have defining features 

Seeing into the future used to be magically exhausting 

But now she is able to use it a bit more freely 

(but she still tries to limit herself)

When she uses her magic 

She is surrounded by a dome of sand which makes it look like she’s in the middle of a tornado 

But it can’t really cause damage

It's more of a gentle breeze then raging winds that form the dome of sand

But if a person were to try and enter said dome 

The dome would disperse and her magic would automatically stop 

If she wants to though 

She can take someone into the dome of sand so they can also see the future
