From my Fallout: New Vegas fic, which I've been going over again recently! Here she is having a little hangout with her sketchy Legion bestie/informant, Canus, as one does. decided upon my bf's prompting to give Canus extremely shit-tier psyker powers so anyway Canus can do pyrokinesis but only enough to light a cigarette basically

Canus:

Do they periodically give the player items? what kind of items?

Canus only knows how to show appreciation through gifts so if the player has high enough affinity with him, he will give ammunition and various junk trinkets - batteries, lockpicks, etc.

Slapdash: Canus may repair broken weapons, but they will decay faster until they're fixed up properly.

He can also a build a few unique modifications, especially for sniper and plasma weapons.

Cat:

Cat hates sharing. Travelling with him is basically like leaving your sarsaparillas on the counter at the Lucky 38 and finding Arcade has been drinking them all.

Roughing It: Cat's high survival skill and interest in botany unlock unique campfire recipes.

11. Bad or petty habits

Canus’ worst habit is definitely either never using the safety on any of his guns, or constantly smoking within 5 or so feet of explosive materials :’) 

He’s incredibly petty as well and likes to exact petty vengeance in the form of things like replacing your sunburn cream with jalapeno mush, or filing your boots with chum. He also loves to cheat at cards.

18. Things they’ll never admit

He will never admit when he’s wrong and he will never admit when he cares about someone (he just shows these things through little favours and gifts, like a bird bringing little tokens)

🥦 - Does your OC eat healthily or live off junk food?

     Almost entirely junk food when it’s available, Canus doesn’t like to hunt very much so he tries to keep snacks on him at all times. His healthiest meal is usually root vegetable soup (he just throws unpeeled carrots and veggies with the tops still on them in some water, bone apple tea)

📎 - How organised is your OC? Do they keep on top of responsibilities, or leave things to the last minute?

     Canus has 0 organizational skills whatsoever. He’s the worst frumentarii for a reason. If he had a phone it’d just be Vulpes blowing up his texts asking why he hasn’t turned any intel in for 5 weeks and getting left on read. 

💡 - How does your OC enact plans? Do they plan down to the smallest details, or do the wing it?

     He wings it every time. Usually it doesn’t go well and he or someone else gets blown up/shot in the process. However he often slides by without getting in too much trouble, because everyone he pisses off (the ncr, the legion, that guy he stole from) all mistakenly expect him to do the thing that makes sense.

     Canus does indeed drink, and he’s a bit of a snob about it when he can afford to be. If it’s fancy (or pretending to be) he wants it. He likes top shelf liquors: particularly whiskey and dark rum. 

He is also the only of my ocs who would be lured into a basement with the promise of a nice Amontillado. (he gets bricked into the wall while holding the wine glass to his ear)

thinkin abt canus and went to look at my oc page and u know. i hate summing up my ocs but i think ‘hugest bong award’ does him justice actually
