After the vampire uprising, Tess was shunned by most of magical society. Casters like Greggorius Lunvik, who had long opposed the use of duplicates, were particularly hostile towards her. The fact that Tess's duplicate was out there raising hell certainly did not help. There was even talk of a forced dissolution.
Keisha and Flora were among the few who stood by her. Their continued support may have further damaged Tess's reputation - though well-respected within the School of Mischief, the duo were known to be absolute terrors - but they took care of her, and made sure she wasn't alone.
Unfortunately, that meant dealing with the fact that, even before becoming a vampire, Flora was notoriously difficult to get along with. At least they had Keisha around to smooth things over.

ye olde days // burn the witch // flora & keisha & tess
the chin strap is mostly there to keep keisha's hat on while she's looking up at her tall friends.
follow-up to this post. been writing a few small century conflict-era scenes - not planning to do a cohesive story but i'll probably end up posting a few of these.
Tess was very insecure about her appearance after her potion making accident, back when back when people simply traded condolences when assigned to partner up with her in alchemy lab. She felt even worse after the vampire uprising - people put most of the blame for the backfiring potion on her because a) she survived to take the blame and b) she already looked like she was bad at potions. And aside from the lack of fangs, she looked more vampire than human, which wasn't great, given that her duplicate Áine was on the loose.
Keisha did a lot to help Tess through that time, eventually helping her feel comfortable enough showing some skin to enjoy at least a few summers before Victorian fashion undid all her hard work. She's always been good at telling people things they don't want to hear without making them defensive, which is incredibly helpful when dealing with someone who clearly struggles to check herself before she wrecks the entire goddamn magic realm herself.
sidenote - flora is keisha's oc mischief bestie and appeared in both simblreen sets I did last year.
I've been pretty swamped with life lately, so here's a big render dump!
The overwhelming majority of my renders never make it online. Some are just test renders, others are parts of unfinished scenes or portraits that were never finalized, and some were discarded in favor of other versions of the same shot. These are some of my favorites from the last few months. It's mostly the retired sages, with some friends to keep them company. Here's some Keisha to start!
for a frame with the dialogue "Do your worst." I generally give Keisha ashy hair for the Century Conflict and silver hair after becoming sage. I have Keisha set as a born spellcaster, so I think I like the idea of her having light hair and pink eyes (despite being an Emiko Mori clone) from the beginning. I gave L (born mundane) normal human skin & eyeebrows, brown eyes, and black hair as a child. My younger Tess models also have normal skin and eyebrows.
fucked up the scaling more than a little bit here lmao - keisha and tess were invisible while I was posing him, and I thought he was going to be leaning on her shoulder 😂 He's only supposed to be 2" taller than Tess, but he's an actual giant here.
i did a render a while back with Flora (purple, Elle DeVampiro's mother-in-law/Keisha's childhood bestie who was tragically turned into a vampire) and Sabina (red, Vlad Straud's master, one of the original vampires). I don't have a huge number of OCs, but I really love these ones ❤️ I can't believe I've reached the point of fleshing out Vlad's master's love life...
I used a vampire version of Dillin Derito to generate Flora. She randomly started out with a facial scar from werewolves despite being set as a vampire. I liked the idea of her being easily recognizable in her dark form to her old friends, so I left it. not sure how she got the scar, but i'm sure it's a fun story.
best friends 😭 why did i decide to kill off flora i love her so much
ok but Morgyn looks PHENOMENAL in that coat. Never really decided what to do with these, so I've got Keisha and Ethren at two separate ages. I think I like Morgyn's outfit the best, but I do really like Ethren in that tailcoat, and I love those gloves on Tess.
pretty Tess is pretty 🖤
from an unfinished scene in which L first meets Keisha. this was quite possibly the first and only time in Keisha's life when she was able to use her height to intimidate someone. she's a tiny smol next to Tess and Ethren!
from an unfinished plot in which Tess has to dress up as a 1930s housewife - Keisha's overall response to her new look is "You are NEVER allowed to get married!!!" but hey at least her drawn-on eyebrows are era appropriate!
from an unfinished scene in which Lilith tries to teach Caleb piano, with mama and papa Vatore in the background absolutely overwhelmed by how heckin cute their babies are (my hc is that mama vatore was a piano teacher so like 😭)
just retired pals being retired pals
i've done a few renders of Tess in this dress, but this one never made it online. pretty tess is pretty!
Back in ye older days before all that vampire nonsense, Flora (aided by Keisha) turned the Noxes' house into gingerbread and they NEVER forgave her.
Before he met Elle, Flora described her son as a hopeless romantic so in love with being in love that he never had a chance to fall for anyone. After being subjected to a seemingly endless parade of supposed future daughters-in-law, Flora was surprised to find that Dillon had already moved Elle into his house, proposed, and been rejected by her parents before she even knew he was seriously involved with someone. She had to hear the news from Vlad, who complained to her that Dillon was monopolizing his favorite violinist and instructed her to have a stern word with her son.
This was, she thought, a very good sign. If Dillon truly had found his soulmate, he should spend his time enjoying her company, not gossiping with his mother about how totally 100% super extra deeply in love he was this time. This wasn't his first, second, or even third engagement (it was, in fact, his eighth) but Flora was pretty sure this one was going to stick.
season of ghosts // ethren & flora & keisha & maria & tess
i haven't been online much lately, but i was doing a few renders for my tabletop campaign and figured i'd post about it.
after going through all the trouble of making a pathfinder party with some of my pixel buddies, my partner and i ended up settling on season of ghosts, an adventure path requiring a different party composition, set in a different region (still pathfinder though). Tian Xia is essentially fantasy Asia. everyone except Tess has been rebuilt.
Something strange is happening to your hometown of Willowshore! Nestled on the banks of a river winding through the legendary Specterwood in Tian Xia’s haunted land of Shenmen, the people of Willowshore are no strangers to supernatural threat, but the danger that comes to town on the first day of summer is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Over the four seasons to come, you and your fellow home-grown heroes must face evil spirits, sinister fiends, and frightening curses, lest the town of Willowshore succumb to the Season of Ghosts!
i'm running this for just me and my partner, and we're really enjoying it so far! i saw a recommendation to add a dhampir (vampire spawn) to the party for thematic reasons. flora or even tess were the obvious choices, but i'm attached to their changeling/aiuvarin (half-elf) heritages and decided instead to go for Keisha, who very much looked the part once I lightened her eyes and gave her fangs.
Ethren (Aiuvarin druid, cultivation order) - the party's main healer, focuses on actual medicine rather than healing spells. It's important to have him around because Keisha, as a dhampir, is harmed by divine healing spells. I have him in the cultivation order bc of his neat trait.
Flora (changeling swashbuckler braggart) - literally her whole thing is she says mean things to her enemies and, if she hurts their feelings badly enough, she does massive damage when she eventually runs them through with her sword. also she's good at dodging. her eyes don't match because her mom was a hag (who ate her dad).
Keisha (dhampir oracle of bones) - her whole thing is being SPOOKY. a spooky spooky lady - dhampir oracle of bones??? so spooky! she's the team's backup healer and the face of the group. She isn't as squishy as Tess, but she's still pretty fragile.
Maria (human wood/metal dual gate kineticist) - the player guide recommended wood/metal as a good thematic fit, so I went with it! she hits hard, she can take a hit, and she can grow trees mid-battle that enemies will attack instead of her teammates.
Tess (Aiuvarin psychic, oscillating wave/precise discipline) - same as before, she sets stuff on fire/freezes stuff with her brain. she needs some coddling, but when used to her full potential she's the hardest-hitting spellcaster in the party. she'll crumble to dust if you sneeze on her wrong (11 HP whatsuppppp, Maria has 21), but her spells have ridiculous range (120ft for her main ice spell, 60ft for her main fire spell) so she can stay away from danger.
Ultimately, despite the fact that both Keisha and Flora went down in the first boss battle, we did very well. My team of L1 babies took down a L3 buso and 4 L1 jinkins at once. and Ethren was able to fix Keisha and Flora, so all good!
so i made elle devampiro's mother-in-law because of course i did.
lore indicates that a lot of spellcasters were turned into vampires during the century conflict, so I decided elle's mother-in-law was originally a virtuoso within the school of mischief and a close friend of keisha hughes. after her transformation, she joined forces with Vlad Straud, married one of his offspring, and had a child, a boy who would one day grow up to star on the medical drama Malpractice.
