...Okay, that's all the work I need to do with this set for the moment. It has some interesting features that can be exploited in some other contexts. Will come back to it another time.

Test renders from the environment for my student film. It’s my first time using the Arnold renderer in Maya so I’m still learning how to work it, but so far I’m liking it a lot more than mental ray ouo
Once I get the rig completely fixed on my character I’ll upload some test renders with my character on here
made in Maya Student Edition 2017
Random stills from an ongoing animation project of mine. These are just test renders at this point.
...Yeah, still playing with this set. Here's that daytime render of the medium angle, with a less Alpine-looking background. (Or less wintry, anyway.) ...Big version of the render at the link underneath.
The candles are amusing me—not least because candles are relatively expensive to use in a medieval setting unless you're rich: and this kind of tavern would certainly be using either something cheaper (like rushlights*) or lamps. (Or, if you're in the Middle Kingdoms, and in a slightly higher-end establishment, some kind of lamp powered by sorcery or the blue Fire.)
Now, it's absolutely possible to stroll around this set and put all the damn candles out, and get rid of their smoke. Did I bother doing this on a test shot? Nope. Maybe next time.
Meanwhile, might render this one more time and then go on to one of the sleazier sets in this package, a crypt bar delightfully described by the makers as "not the kind of place you plan to visit. It's the kind of place you end up in." 😏
*Still find it fascinating that no one at the Daz end seems to have attempted a rushlight...
