hi my beloved could you please tell me more about landry culpepper and her variants??
aaah bb!! ofc!! she is still a work in progress but here goes:
In this verse she is a childhood friend of Peter’s who moves back into town with her elderly uncle after the death of her CIA operative mother.
She’s quick to rekindle her old friendship with him and catch on to his feelings for Mary Jane.
Has a crush on Harry Osborn that frustrates her to no end because he is not only the type of guy she claims to hate but also has feelings for Mary Jane, who she grows to like.
After being rescued by Spider-Man from nearly being flattened by a semi truck, she develops a fixation on him. Thus, going out of her way to unmask him.
Figuring out Peter is the one behind the mask surprisingly comes quickly and with ease, as she catches Peter switching into his Spidey suit in an alley by chance. That begins her storyline as his first ally.
She keeps his secret and remains loyal to Peter from there on out. However, it puts a wedge in her budding relationship with Harry that grows worse and worse as the films progress.
She eventually attends Columbia University as a computer science major in this verse.
Landry is presented as more of a quirky tomboy here.
Series trope: Girl Friday.
In this verse, she is Peter’s classmate and longtime neighbor. Much like him, she is often bullied.
She isn’t really connected to Peter much here until his entire storyline becoming Spider-Man begins.
While visiting her mother at Oscorp, she secretly witnesses Peter being bitten by a genetically modified spider. Due to this, it doesn’t take long for her to put together that Peter Parker and Spider-Man are the same person.
An aspiring photographer, it’s not until she and Peter become rivals at the Daily Bugle that she confronts him about his double life. However, she agrees to keep it a secret so long as he allows her to turn in shots of Spider-Man as well from time to time.
This causes an unexpected friendship to form between the two.
When Harry Osborn begins his hunt for Spider-Man in search of a cure for his genetic illness, he kidnaps and nearly tortures her as the Green Goblin in attempts to use her as a means of gathering the masked vigilante’s blood.
She lives with her failed musician uncle Who has a crush on aunt May.
Landry is presented as more of a soft cyber goth in this verse.
Series Trope: The Secret Keeper
In this verse, Landry is Peter’s outcast classmate at midtown who moved to town a year and a half prior to the first film.
She lives with her young uncle, Vic in a quaint Brooklyn apartment.
Her mother, Kieran Culpepper, is an infamous Shield spy agent. Hence, she’s never really been around much leaving Landry to practically raise herself.
Her connection to Spider-Man begins when she digs into her mothers virtual files ( in attempt to learn more about her and where she might be ) and comes across one with the identity of Spider-Man.
From there she aims to prove that Peter Parker and Spider-Man are in fact the same person, gathering all sorts of information and theories.
With her eagle eye and novice detective work, it doesn’t take long for her to confront him with what she knows.
While she initially plans to expose him, she agrees to keep his secret upon his woeful pleas.
She’s the first person to figure out his double life.
Once Ned discovers the truth as well, they kind of tag team the sidekick role. Much like MJ, she doesn’t have any friends before her bond with Peter forms. She notes her intimidating nature as the cause of it all.
Speaking of MJ, Landry has a slight crush on her because who wouldn’t.
Meanwhile her uncle Vic has the hots for aunt May.
Landry is presented as more of an intimidating pink rocker in this verse.
Series trope: The Sarcastic Devotee
