OCCULTUM-REVIVAL
There's no argue... Jack is the most adorable character/baby ever! 🥰
That is one strong moose!!!
CrackMeta: Regarding Ruby...
Although I don't tend to give much (re: any) substantial credit to a Bucklemming episodes, I would like to congratulate Destiny's Child for cracktasticly realizing my cracktastic suggestion that the title of the episode and the cast teasing implies that Ruby's host was pregnant with Sam's child.
And I'll explain how, and why this is actually, in hind-side, quite awesome.
A side note: For this episode to have any sense in terms of continuity – I will have to assume Sister Jo aka Anael was lying about when she actually fell to earth and for how long she was doing “charity work” and that Ruby was lying about not encountering angels before. Both aren't great leaps so I'll go with that. Also, I will have to assume that Ruby stashing the Occultum some place hidden even from Sister Jo - had a purpose in her plan, since on the long run, as a “side effect” of her (and Lucifer's... and Azazel's...) machinations Sam “lost” his damn soul, AND THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A HANDY THINGIE BACK THEN, and could be a bargaining chip for her. Alas, she dies.
That also makes me assume that the Occultum has the ability to regain/reform/re-claim a soul in whatever state/realm it is.
Another side note: A child of an Angel of the Lord and a Human is a Nephil, which it the singular right form of the word. Nephilim is a plural.
Jack is the son of an Archangel and a Human, Lucifer and Kelly Kline. Castiel, as I wrote it out before, is the entity that guarantied the emergence of Jack's material existence. Sam was the one to give him the chance and grant him with choice.
Jack's soul was burned out. It doesn't reside in any realm as a whole, it was used as a power source, and as such – it reincarnated into the fabric of the universe in some form (well, it must have, conservation of energy and all that). Thus, to reclaim it, one would require unprecedented measures.
And as fate would have it, the key for his re-ensoulment comes from the entity that consummated with the True Vessel of Jack's father.
Now, let that sink in: be it otherwise, and Lucifer were to roam the earth in Sam's skin, be it the wishing of that archangel to make the world in his image – by erasing humanity amass or worse – populating the world with Nephilim!!!...
The idea that the last piece of Jack's wholeness, his very soul, was, by proxy, gifted to him by the very Demonic entity that was first in line after Lilith, a Lucifer loyalist to the end, a true believer - is a powerful imagery. That entity being Ruby – a demon, who, in her own, grotesque, convoluted way “loved” Sam – the way a priest loves the sacrificial goat – is even more overwhelming to me.
In her post-mortem state, Ruby gifted a life with a soul. And not to anyone, no, but to the Son of Lucifer himself; and Sam Winchester's charge.
I wonder if she would've been proud. After all, things may look a bit different from beyond the grave.
ruby has the most childish comebacks ever
Christ, I need to stay out of my boy’s tag or I’m gonna end up laughing myself to death!
Learning is fun! Everyone should try it!
I’m planning on being thoroughly obnoxious later because it’s my birthday and no one can stop me, but until then have Jack in the garden and appreciate the alchemy of it.
