Marauders as the Total Drama cast because the more I think about it the more violently correct it becomes.
Barty Crouch Jr is Duncan. Obviously. This man would show up to camp already banned from three previous camps, flirt with danger, insult Evans, because Lily as Courtney is terrifyingly perfect: rule-abiding, competitive, clipboard-coded, absolutely convinced she’s the only sane person here, and somehow still falling for the delinquent gremlin she claims to hate. Their relationship would be ninety percent arguing, ten percent insane chemistry, and one hundred percent everyone else’s problem.
And then Dorcas Meadowes as Gwen walks in and suddenly Barty’s like “oh no, emotionally unavailable goth girl with dry humour” and the Duncan/Courtney/Gwen love triangle becomes Barty/Lily/Dorcas, which is just the world’s worst group project but with eyeliner and attempted murder. Though it's probably more Barty getting ignored in favour of Dorcas/Lily.
Lily as Courtney is literally “I have a five-year plan and you are all ruining it.” She would sue Chris, win, and then still come back next season because she needs to prove she can do it better.
Regulus Black as Izzy is inspired because Regulus already has the energy of someone who knows secret tunnels, has three fake names, can disappear into the forest, and might bite if cornered. Izzy and Owen’s relationship but make it Regulus and Peter is so funny because Peter as Owen would be like, “wow, he’s so mysterious and cool,” while Regulus is hanging upside down from a tree whispering government secrets. Peter would adore him. Regulus would pretend he doesn’t adore Peter back while actively causing explosions for enrichment.
Peter Pettigrew as Owen is painfully accurate. Sweet, hungry, underestimated, accidentally friends with everyone, and somehow the emotional glue of the group even while being a walking disaster. His friendship with Remus as Noah would be elite, because Peter would be rambling happily about snacks and vibes while Remus just stands beside him with the driest commentary known to man. Owen and Noah are basically “sunshine golden retriever befriends sarcastic corpse,” which is exactly Peter and Remus if Remus were forced to endure happiness against his will.
Gilderoy Lockhart as Justin. No notes. That man would stare into a lake, see his own reflection, and try to vote everyone else off for being less beautiful.
Remus Lupin as Noah is so correct it’s actually rude. Same deadpan face. Same “I’m surrounded by idiots and legally cannot leave” energy. Same ability to say one sentence and emotionally destroy a room. He would not win challenges through strength. He would win by insulting people so accurately they need to sit down.
Mary Macdonald as Beth makes sense because she’d get dragged into Rita Skeeter’s Heather alliance, immediately regret it, and then become besties with Pandora as Lindsay. Mary and Pandora would be giggling in the corner while Rita is actively doing psychological warfare. Beth’s dynamic with Lindsay and Heather is basically Mary trying to survive being nice while standing between a glittery airhead angel and the final boss of journalism evil.
Emmeline Vance as Trent is such sad acoustic guitar boyfriend energy. Her relationship with Dorcas as Gwen would be all indie yearning, long eye contact, and then slowly realising Dorcas has the emotional availability of a locked crypt. Very Trent. Very “I wrote you a song and now everything is worse.”
Alice Fortescue as Bridgette and Frank Longbottom as Geoff is the healthiest thing here. They’re cute, they’re sweet, they’re athletic, they’re emotionally functional, which means they should be removed from this cast immediately for being too stable. Alice and Frank would be making out in the background while everyone else is committing crimes against narrative structure.
Fabian Prewett as Sadie and Gideon Prewett as Katie. Obviously. They come as a pair. They share one brain cell. Separating them would count as a war crime.
Rita Skeeter as Heather is not even casting, It's just correct. Mean girl manipulator, alliance destroyer, professional hater, somehow iconic even when she’s being the worst person alive. Her relationship with Dorcas as Gwen would be radioactive: mutual hatred, mutual respect, and the constant urge to push each other off something high. Her treatment of Pandora as Lindsay and Mary as Beth would be pure villainy. She would absolutely use them, insult them, then act shocked when they finally stop putting up with her. And Rita with Hestia Zabini as Alejandro? Horrifying. Two evil gorgeous people trying to manipulate each other while accidentally inventing romance. Everyone else should evacuate.
Pandora Rosier as Lindsay is perfect because she’s beautiful, sparkly, weirdly powerful in ways nobody respects enough, and absolutely operating on a frequency unavailable to mankind. Her relationship with Xenophilius as Tyler would be adorable because Tyler is trying so hard to impress her and Pandora is just like, “oh, the bendy one!” while genuinely loving him. Xeno would trip over air and she’d think it was performance art.
Xenophilius Lovegood as Tyler is also excellent because he has the energy of a man who would fail every physical challenge but describe it later as a spiritual journey.
Dorcas Meadowes as Gwen is flawless. Goth, dry, done with everyone, accidentally magnetic to every emotionally unstable person within a five-mile radius. She does not want to be in a love triangle. She does not want Cody-Marlene pining after her. She does not want Rita-Heather trying to destroy her. Unfortunately, she is Gwen, so the plot has chosen violence.
Marlene McKinnon as Cody is actually criminally funny. She’d be trying to flirt with Dorcas as Gwen and failing so badly it circles back round to charming. Then Sybil Trelawny as Sierra appears and suddenly Marlene understands fear. Cody’s relationship with Gwen and Sierra but make it Marlene, Dorcas, and Sybil is just Dorcas trying to have one normal day while Marlene pines and Sybil has already made a shrine. But Marlene’s friendship with Peter, Remus, and Rita would be so funny too: Peter supports her bad ideas, Remus judges them, and Rita bullies her so often it accidentally becomes mentorship.
James Potter as DJ is beautiful because he’s huge soft lad energy. Built like he could carry the team, emotionally destroyed by hurting a beetle. He’d cry over an animal curse, apologise to the trees, and somehow become everyone’s camp dad by episode three.
Emma Vanity as Eva is just rage in human form. She would throw a canoe. No further explanation.
Severus Snape as Ezekiel is darkly funny because everyone would immediately decide he’s the weird basement boy of the cast and he’d make one awful comment, get eliminated first, and then spend the rest of the series lurking in the background like a curse with greasy hair. Horrible little omen man.
Arthur Weasley as Harold is perfect because he’s strange, enthusiastic, unexpectedly skilled, and deeply uncool in a way that becomes endearing if you stare too long. His relationship with Molly as Leshawna would be iconic. Molly would defend him, roast him, hype him up, and also absolutely tell him when he’s being a freak. Harold and Leshawna but make it Arthur and Molly is just “weird little man wins the heart of a queen through sincerity, nonsense, and suspiciously good beatboxing.”
Molly Prewett as Leshawna is queen energy. She’d carry the social game, fight Heather-Rita on sight, protect the girls, and deliver confessionals that belong in museums.
Hestia Zabini as Alejandro is terrifying because she’d arrive late, smile once, and half the cast would walk into the sea willingly. Rita as Heather would immediately clock her as a threat and then spend the whole season being like “I hate her” while writing Mrs Rita Zabini in the margins.
Narcissa Malfoy as Blaineley is absolutely correct. Perfect hair, perfect smile, absolutely no shame, hosting the aftermath like it’s a royal execution.
Sybil Trelawny as Sierra is insane because she would know everyone’s birthdays, blood types, trauma, future deaths, and favourite crisps before episode one. Marlene would be her Cody and she would be unbearable about it.
Albus Dumbledore as Chris is horrifyingly easy to imagine. He’d stand there twinkling while children fall off cliffs and say something like, “Alas, points will be awarded for resilience.”
And Gellert Grindelwald as Chef? Evil. Camp cook, challenge enforcer, war criminal with a spatula. He and Dumbledore would have the most unhinged host dynamic ever broadcast. Chris and Chef already had divorced villain energy, but Dumbledore and Grindelwald would make it legally inadvisable.
Anyway, Total Drama: Dead Gay Wizards From The 70s would be the worst show ever made and I would watch every episode twice.
