Most of us know that Santa Claus is based in part on St. Nicholas, but did you know that Odin, Ruler of Asgard, is also the Father of Yule? Many Santa traits are drawn from Odin, especially this one:
At Yule, Odin would ride his 8-legged horse, Sleipnir, across the skies. When he would find boots filled with carrots left by the children for Sleipnir, he would replace the carrots with candy, other foods and gifts. Sound familiar? It should.
