Can't be arsed to investigate GB News for clear hate speech but jump at the chance to fine any company who doesn't comply with the OSA.
Useless organisation in a useless country ran by a useless fucking government.
Breaking News: UK Government declares War on 4Chan and 4chan responds with a polite “Fuck You”
4Chan is a hive of Hackers, Trolls and Investigators so powerful and united they’re basically an Open Source FBI. Some even theorize that 4Chan is an FBI Honey Pot. It’s pure Maliciously Directed Autism. You do not make 4Chan angry because they will destroy you and everything you love. They have never lost a fight. Both Tumblr and Twitter waged war against them in the past and got their asses handedly to them. Several Activist Groups waged war against them and lost, this isn’t even the first time a Government came after them. Personally I’m eating Popcorn and watching because this is going to be fun
Hey so...this is wild!

TLDR, the current version of the UK online safety act doesn't require age verification for phones/devices, just certain websites!
Of course the UK government is still to blame here, but I honestly found this kinda concerning-
Yeah, I agree that does sound concerning.
To break it down, the OSA (Online Safety Act) law does NOT primarily target:
- Phone operating systems (like iOS)
- App stores (like Apple’s App Store)
- Device manufacturers (like Apple)
So companies like Apple are not legally required by this law to add:
- Age verification at the device level (To your iPhone itself)
- Age checks tied to your Apple Account for general app access
BUT
The UK regulator Ofcom is praising Apple because:
Apple is choosing to go beyond what the law requires and they are voluntarily adding stronger age checks or protections. They think it helps achieve the law’s goals "child safety: without being forced to.
That totally doesn't sound like an abuse of power at all.
Yeah, I have heard of Ofcom through Preston Byrne (He is a lawyer for 4chan and the creator of the GRANITE act here in the US). Ofcom is one of the people responsible for the age verfication being forced onto the US right now. They are pressuring the US to do the same. He has been consistently fighting them and sending letters to them. They have been going back and forth.
(Thank you, @candyguts-blog , for the news :) 👍❤️)
HAVE YOU GOT A LICENCE FOR THAT?
Because my government is so stupid, I don’t even know if I’m going to be able to keep posting on here in the near future. I refuse to hand over my face or my ID to use the internet in any meaningful way. This twat is at the top here because he wants us to link our accounts to our full names, faces, current home addresses, and place and date of birth, and is doing so under the false pretence of child safety.
It also beggars belief that this massive overreach can be justified with a janky consultation form that didn’t even offer its paltry participants the option to say no. There is no mandate for this; it was not in Labour’s manifesto and we have not voted on it. There is, however, a government petition signed by over 2 MILLION people standing in opposition to the introduction of Digital ID and yet this act seeks to carry it out anyways.
I am so sorry to the kids who’re now going to be cut off from YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter. There will be many condescending adults who think they are the paragon of internet savviness telling you, quite moralistically, that this is for your own good; that you’re whining; that you’ll be thankful for it in the end. This will quite understandably frustrate you, but please know that there are also adults out there who find this ban just as stupid as you do. It is a sign of a ludicrous state to allow 16-year-olds to get pregnant, work, vote and join the army but not scroll on Twitter past 10pm.
