~Leave ‘Lived long enough to become the villain’ to get a glimpse of my character being a villain.~

Sitting before a small jail cell, Noriko looked down at the broken husk of what once was a shinobi she had caught spying on her.
“Moorning sleepy head!” She greeted with a small wave once she noticed their eyes open. “Now, I thought about asking you a few more questions as to who sent you here, buut, I don’t think I’ll be making any progress anytime soon.” the Ayaka mused before a sinister smile etched itself onto her face. “Soooo, I decided to bring in a friend to help jog your memory!” she informed cheerfully.
Getting up from the small stool opening the exit to the room, Noriko dragged in another shinobi who was both blindfolded and gagged. Tossing them in front of the shinobi, the Ayaka’s grin only grew when she noticed their previously dead eyes, burst to life. Their arms struggling weakly against the chains that bound them.
“I found them snooping around here, and if I remember correctly I do believe they were looking for you~” she giggled as she watched the shinobi before stare down at their friend who shivered helplessly before them.
“What are you going to do?” they asked, their eyes filling with hate as they glared at the snowy haired woman before them.
“Aww, didn’t you hear me before?” she asked. Moving down, Noriko untied the gag that she had placed over the newly captured shinobi’s mouth. “I said I was bringing them in help jog your memory.” Just as she said those sickeningly sweet words, Noriko’s foot slammed into the shinobi’s leg, a sickening crack filling the empty room followed by an equally revolting scream.

There it was. This little strange pain in Obito’s chest, he hardly felt for over 17 years. It was sadness that overcame him. He held this feeling for the past few weeks by now.
Since Deidara and Konan passed away, since Hidan and Kakuzu died, since even Kisame and Itachi had gone, this feeling became stronger. He never really cared much for the other members, them being just his puppets for his goal, but still, it made something clear. Someone who claimed to be immortal, and the strongest of the Uchiha’s, had died. An angel had fallen.
Maybe even a God could die?
And this question was stuck into Obito’s mind, when he walked through the hallways of Pein’s hide out. He was nervous, this toxic thought slowly eating him alive. The only hope that was left, was the male. What if he would die? Would Obito even be able to keep going on? Would there be even a hope left?
And the bitter taste that was left on his tongue, spoke for itself. There was no hope left, when Pein would die.
xx
It was a calm night, when Pein came back from a mission. Obito felt strange, when he saw the male, that was for time being his light and shadow all in one. When Pein looked at him, Obito couldn’t handle the feeling, the pain in his heart.
He cried out, sinking down to his knees, face hidden behind his palms, while he curled up on the cold floor, sobbing loudly, shaking violently like he never did before. He could not even handle the thought of losing Pein, to lose the only thing good left in this fucked up world.
A sullen ease washed over him as he pulled the door shut. Not incredibly often was he called in for a word with his ‘boss’, but the man’s piercing gaze did not bother him for some reason. The sounds that plagued him so frequently faltered and silenced themselves when he was around his superior. Such an odd, unintentional solace.

Hours had passed, when Obito slowly woke up. He felt not only dizzy, but his body was in pain. When was the last time he felt pain; when he felt anything at all?
His eyes were blurry, but he was able to look around. He lay in some kind of forest, or at least something that was once a forest. The trees ripped out of the earth, tree trunks were spread all over the place. He noticed how quietly it was, how no wind blew, no animal nearby, not even a bird singing. It reminded him of the place, when he watched his teammate die. It was depressive and cold. Just like his current mood.
The male slowly pushed himself up, feeling that his body still had a hard time to generate from his wounds, dried blood making his torn clothes stick to his skin. His purple robe was drenched in blood, his white mask shattered on the ground, dirty covering most of it. It took Obito a long time, to finally be able to move his legs, which showed strangely wounds, like a spear was pierced through them. Maybe they were? He could hardly remember anything at all.
He tried to active his sharingan, but it was from no use. Right when the black eye tried to turn blood red, a sharp pain rushed through his eye. It was overused. Obito never did overuse his sharingan before. He wasn't panicking, even when he was right now weak enough to get killed by others. But there was no one around anyway.
After it felt like hours, the Uchiha finally stood on both his legs, shaky, hardly stable enough to walk a few feet. Where was he and what happened? His mind drifted off, when he felt the chakra of another person, just enough, for him to feel it, when he walked closer to the spot.
And then he saw the misery, and it all came back to him.
“Pein!”, he called out, limping over to the orang haired male who was crushed under one of many tree trunks. He was unconscious but he was after all still alive. Obito went down on his knees, using all the strength he had left to shove the tree trank off the other male.
Then he let his eyes wander over the male's body, and he knew that they both were the reason why this forest was no more, and why they both were heavily wounded. The only difference was, that Obito was able to heal, Pein on the other hand still was covered in deep and nasty wounds. The spears Obito was able to pull out of his arm, were pierced in Pein's thighs and hands. The Uchiha shivered. His healing wounds showed, that Pein did the same to him as well.
Why did they even fight?
Obito only knew, they argued, that Pein started to have another opinion than Obito, that Pein wanted to move on, to find some other purpose in life than war and hatred, that he wanted to see the light of another day, while Obito was destroying himself, hiding in the shadows, cursing this world, with the need to let others suffer as much as he did.
The Uchiha remembered the fight, how Obito attacked Pein in the second he realized, he would be alone. That Pein would leave him, that the Uchiha would have no one left. He snapped, as hard as a human being could snap, and attacked the only person he really loved and trusted. Since Pein was strong, and would never flinch back, the fight was destructive and for mostly every other person on this planet usually deathly.
Obito remembered how much in rage he was, that he grinned like a psyopath when he hurt Pein, that he lost his mind and turned into a beast, and Pein did the same, to fight back. There was no time to pity another, there was no time to stop.
And this here was the result for Obito being too obsessed. This was the price Pein had to pay to stay with a maniac.
The Uchiha took off his robe, to rip it apart, using the piece of cloth as bandages to somehow help the wounds to stop bleeding, but Pein had lost a lot of blood after all, lying here for so long. Obito didn't even noticed how hot tears streamed over his with blood covered cheeks and dripped onto Pein's pale chest, how Obito bit his lower lip hard, drawing blood such because he was so angry.
Why was he like that? Why couldn't he just go with Pein, trying to find some peace and happyness? After all Pein was already able to make Obito feel good. It was rare, but Obito's heart always beat stronger and faster, when he was close to the other male, and he realized, that – even when he always said he had no heart – he still had a healthy one beating for the other.
The sun started to set, when Obito finished up his try to somehow help Pein. His own body felt numb, and he was tired, oh so tired from the fight, not just with Pein, but with the one against his own darkness. It would take a lot of light to make it vanish. And the only dim light he had, was the one he extinguished. What irony...
He curled up next to Pein, a hand placed on the male's chest, to feel his slow heartbeat under his palm, lying half on top of the other male, to keep him warm.
Obito fell asleep, with the hope Pein would wake up again, so Obito could beg him for mercy.
