I went off on an fb ad that was advocating for taking your dog off the leash but my app closed before I could screencap it. Basically everyone who got angry with it was told "lol train your dog better" and it pissed me off so I'll repeat it here.

My dog was extremely well behaved. I can't take credit for that, whoever had him first had him so obedient that the one time he ever played tug of war ended when I playfully told him "gimme that". That said, I never took Mohsen off the leash unless we were at the dog park. You know what happened to him at the dog park? He was attacked by a dog who should have never been taken off the leash. I was talked out of pressing charges because Mohsen had only superficial wounds, but that's solely because he had such a shaggy coat–the other dog went straight for Mohsen's throat. I could just as easily pressed charges and had the other dog put down. Maybe I should have, idk.

Everyone thinks their dog is special and would never do such a thing, but all it takes is a single instance of your dog falling prey to a moment of instinct, mischief, or stupidity, and it's all over for your special dog. I don't blame the other dog, I blame his owner for being reckless with her dog's life, my dog's life, and the lives of all the other dogs and humans at the park that day.
