Sorry for lack of updates-
Mun is very sick. Will hopefully be back on track tomorrow! Askbox remains open for this time!
The askbox continues to be empty, Boris is still lost, and Mannegishi is still pulling a "body thievery"
Askbox Empty
No posts today!
Sorry!
Askbox is sitting at 2, and it’s still open!
Off-8
After the meeting, my "Commander" takes me to assign my quarters. This camp is much bigger, so our bunks are in an actual building instead of cabins. He takes me to a small office area, obviously in the need of cleaning. The door is set to the right, so in front of me are tall file cabinets, and to the left is a cramped desk with more file cabinets behind, and a safe underneath.
There is a computer on the desk, like the one from the shack, but in much better condition. ____________. I start tapping my leg, relentlessly.
"Okay, I have two bunks that would be of your liking. A130 and C349. Your choice." He obviously doesn't care about my preference and is trying to get rid of me.
I cannot decide, so I stand there, waiting expectantly.
"A130 has a window."
"Okay." It's nice to know a window can persuade my decisions.
"We'll send some preparations to your room, but first you have to come with me."
He leads me out of the office and to the right, where there is a door to the outside. Around the patio, and to the left, and then another left around the building, we go through glass doors. Another left around the corridor, and the second door on the right. It looks like a doctor's office.
"Sit," he says, pointing to the bed with the paper on it. I hoist myself up, completely failing at trying to be quiet.
A nurse comes in, checks my eyes, checks my blood pressure, inspects me for any cuts. I'm clean. She leaves and calls, "She's ready!" to a man who walks in seconds later. He is carrying a clipboard, probably of important things, and is wearing a long black robe, like a scientist's coat, but black. He looks a bit like an Oreo, because of his black hair and very light skin.
"Hello, uh Ah-MAY-dis?" He smiles.
"It's AH-mah-dis. AH, like in cat."
"Well, Amadis, do you know why you're in here?"
"To make sure I'm healthy?"
His smile drops, "Young lady, you are in an undesirable amount of trouble."
Well isn't that a change.
He looks at his clipboard of important things. "Do you recall saying you were recently at a shack? Near the campsite you were found at?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact I was."
The Commander and the Interviewer look suspiciously at each other. "Well, that is impossible, because we found you dying of dehydrations and-"
"What does dehydration have anything to do with where you found me?"
"You were dying of thirst when we found you, so you could have been there around a week or so."
"Yeah, so?"
"That shack burned down over two months ago," says the Commander.
"That's impossible. I was with my friend-."
"You said you were alone, yesterday."
"Yeah? Well, I lied. I was with my friend and I passed out the same day we left the place."
"How do we know you're not lying about that?"
"I only lied because..." I trail off. The tears pour out of my eyes. "Take me to the campsite and I'll prove it to you," I say, wiping my eyes and my nose.
The Commander nods and says, "Alright, we'll leave before the sun tomorrow morning. Here is your room key; now go to your room. Lights out at 10:30. Dinner at 6."
He hands me a small metal rod, which just looks like a big, metal stick of gum. I leave the room, and a nurse escorts me to an elevator, where I push a button with a big A.
The doors close and reopen in a few seconds - I hardly noticed it'd moved. I couldn't tell that I was on the second floor until I passed a window in a hallway leading me to "Room 121-140" with an arrow pointing down.
I arrive at my room and swipe the metal rod over a circular pad above the handle. Something inside the door clicks, and I let myself in the room. A tiny hallway with a bathroom to the left is where I pass through. The room has one king-size bed, a television, a work desk, and a lounge chair. Then, I see the heavy curtains in front of me, concealing the very window that so sweet-talked me into accepting this room. The whole set up looks like a hotel room. I walk to the window.
I open the curtains wide. The glass door slides open, revealing a balcony. I have a balcony just one story off the ground. Tomorrow night, I shall plan my escape.
(alacarthy? This is just so I don't forget this)
