call it a hot take but i think nuns should be able to officiate and, more importantly, annul marriages within the church. i’m fucking tired of hearing women who are stuck with their asshole abusive husbands because the priests belittle and don’t understand their situations and side with the husbands, leaving religious women with no means of leaving her husband. or women who are too scared to tell a priest, because they don’t trust a man as a confidant. i’m fucking tired of seeing and hearing it. cheating is grounds for a goddamn annulment. abuse is grounds, physical or no. holy shit. if pope francis has a goddamn tumblr, please hear me. there’s nothing, i repeat, NOTHING, in the bible or doctrine that says this is an impossibility. please. i’m so tired of the patriarchy of the church. god.
