#ogre mage

I was at my FLGS just picking up some paint and glue, minding my own business, when this Ogre Mage caught my eye and started chatting me up about painting ideas. Next thing I know he's moved into my house. Ogre Mage by Reaperminis.

The idea I had was to change up some of the process that I've been using and paint him with a ghoul flesh first for skin and then use an orange Shader on top of that see what I would get. I started with the left hand as my test piece and went from there.

"Japanese ogre" by Greg Bell from D&D Supplement I: Greyhawk, TSR, 1976. The Greyhawk supplement introduced rules for "ogre magi" or "Japanese ogres," clearly based on the oni of folklore, though the term oni was not used at this time.
