Nick Grimshaw talking about Harry's on stage story of being 'normal sized' on Sidetracked x
nick being jealous of charlie’s celebrity crush
then falling in love with him too
this will forever make me laugh
Olivia Shmolivia I just want to know why Nick hasn't played Kissco or been to Wembley 😭😭😭
Don't we all!
Nick reminds me of that sad hamster meme, especially after he throws Jacob’s phone and it breaks if you miss the QTE. “I’m sowwy Jacob 🥺 👉👈” Like what did he think was going to happen 😭💀 that part is so hilarious to me
it's literally like an alien doing its best to blend in with humans, but its only exposure to human media beforehand was flambouyant online pranksters & drake & josh
EP3 is slowly watching Nick break his own heart. I wonder where he'll go from here.
who else cried
nicholasgrimshaw ONE WEEK UNTIL SOFT LAD LANDS IN YOUR HANDS and I'm feeling all kinds of nerves/excitement/fear/ vulnerability as everything's about to become quite real...
Most of the the time I don't find it difficult to chat, chatting is my thing, I've made it my profession and can pretty much chat shit to anyone about anything, but when it came to looking back on the various moments of my life and figuring out those worth sharing - there was something about it that felt more final, more uncomfortable and to be honest, a lot BIGGER and scarier. Much like a turbo charged therapy sesh over many, many months. It made me want to hide, it made me question myself and at times, scream. It was enormous. It was hard. How did I know I was doing it right? What if...everyone hates it? I can honestly say it's been one of the hardest, but best, most rewarding experiences of my career.
I celebrate the people I love, with tales of growing up, coming of age, the realisation I was a gay, falling in love, my desire to go against the grain, grieving, losing my head, excess, healing & navigating life. It's about success - that small unlikely dream I had to be a Radio 1 DJ back when I lived in Oldham as a kid & all the hard graft to get there. This is stuff l've never talked about before & after won't likely talk about again in a hurry. But when I look at these pictures of little me, and look over what's found itself inside Soft Lad, I do for once in my life feel really proud.
These are stories of being *that* soft lad, the softness that's shaped me and also the lessons along the way. It's the very softness that scared me, that has served me well and it's that sentiment I'm sharing with the world - so in the same way, you might have that Achilles heel that you once thought was your downfall, but it's most likely the making of you and the reason why people think you're great. So I hope this book dares you to be proud of your differentness.
It'll make you cry, it will make you feel good and nostalgic & I hope that you feel and love the stories.
You can pre-order via Amazon & loads of other places on the link in my bio now and it will arrive at your house next week EEEEEK! ✨
