Camellia Japonica - What does your muse excel at, and are they aware of/proud of these skills?
hyeyeon is particularly skilled in a number of fields, and is aware of her skills. the pride… comes and goes. she speaks english, korean, japanese, and spanish - knows a little sign language, and is learning french. additionally, she took ballet until she turned 14, can play piano, and isn’t a bad shot with a gun (or a bow and arrow, but that’s not really useful in 2019). she also took coding classes through high school. she’s not hacker material, but she can be of help from time to time. of course, she’s proud of herself for having such capabilities. she’s used to the terms prodigy and polymath being thrown around. at the same time, however, she would’ve much rather had a healthy family that cared about her, and she kind of feels that, to a certain degree, her various talents are representative of her parents desire for her to be who they wanted her to be, and not who she really is.
Begonia - Is your muse prone to ‘flights of fancy’, or are they more down-to-earth?
hyeyeon definitely walks the line between down-to-earth and high-maintenance. growing up in a wealthy household, she’s used to a certain quality of living. this is one she’s maintained by stealing from her parents even after they cut off, and working for the yokai. however, she also wants to be more independent, almost to spite her upbringing. everyone can definitely tell that she’s a bit of a spoiled, baby-doll type - and that’s her intention, to keep people from getting too close to her, so she won’t get hurt. however, i think that she often defies people’s expectations of her, especially once they get to know her.
Cypress - What is the most impactful loss that your muse has experienced?
hyeyeon hasn’t experienced a loss through death or anything like that - but the day she showed her parents the bruises her fiance left on her, and showed them the texts he sent, and talked about the various other ways he hurt her - finally reaching out for help - and they turned a blind eye to it and told her she was to marry him anyway, she felt a certain kind of loss. hyeyeon had never felt love from her parents, but this confirmed that they, perhaps, didn’t care. additionally, she lost her trust in them too - and when she ran away from the marriage and they cut her off, and she changed her last name so they couldn’t find her, she lost even more. her identity, her family, her name. her past.
