SUMMARY: A wandering Silla-era soul decides to get centuries-old revenge on the woman he loved more than anything in this world.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Boot-cut jeans, heroic rescues, orphan firefighters, amusement park trips, worried lawyers, bad parenting, good parenting, steely looks, supportive roommates, living room ponds, grief, monks, lotus seeds, and learning to love your enemy.
HOT TAKE: This wasn't a spectacular show overall, but the historical flashbacks were so so much better than the modern-day mystery they supported. There's just something about Kim Young Dae with his romantic steely looks and silk noble robes that sells it. Conversely, I think Pyo Ye Jin made a better Seoul citizen than someone from the past.

Ramblings for Episodes 1-2:
NAM GOONG MIN IS GOLD. HE IS A RIOT. HE IS ADORABLE. He is everything cute and amazing about this show so far.
As much as the kdrama tropes overflow in a painful way for this Cinderella-premise, I’m quite glad that the female lead is generally pretty relatable, reasonable and logical.
The number of unreasonable people in the first two episodes alone can make this whole watching experience negative and painful if not for the gem that is Nam Goong Min’s character.
Even the second male lead Joon Soo is so quickly becoming so adorable. Both his and Nam Goong Min’s expressions are so precious I cannot even. 1000% adorbs together!! (also 1000% GIF-worthy *_*)

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Mysterious boxes full of biology, adoptions, grief, jealousy, friendship, lies, computer hacking, reassignments, political pressure, contamination, greed, and media control.
HOT TAKE: This show took me a WHILE to finish. It's not because it was predictable, boring, or too tense--there was just a LOT going on to keep track of and sometimes I just needed a drama to shut my brain off with.
Every episode of this show is packed with ins, outs, loyalties, lies, discoveries, logistical pitfalls, and all-to-realistic corporate greed and manipulation. Take your time to enjoy this drama because its worth it--just don't beat yourself up if you need a little plot refresher between episodes!
