Can someone better than me write a fic where Spock and Jim are newly a couple and they have to visit some old old Vulcans where they have to pretend they're not "professionalism is paramount, Jim, I do think their level is bordering illogical". Whilst they're there the Vulcans do not like the illogical and so very human captain that was sent to help and they make that very clear. They nitpick on they way he eats, the way he walks in the heat, the jokes he makes for "himself" and the way he is corrupting their Vulcan officer (they don't know he's half)
Cut to end with them being at a celebration or something and Spock has enough - he had to visit his beloved many times in the night to reassure him that he is worth it. Jim had been afraid that if these Vulcans don't approve how the hell would he get Spocks parents to? How the hell would they be able to be a couple? Would they even be able to walk around Vulcan without scrutiny? - and Spocks dramamitc ass human kisses Jim infront of everyone
