Old Ties

It is said that, once one leaves the Encanto, it is near impossible to find again.
But, it is possible.
Luna hadn’t even realized she was back in Columbia--wasn’t really in her plans, what with how bold the sun usually was in that part of the world. So unforgiving to those born without skin pigment.
Yet, here she was, in time to see a far distant mountain split. Crack deep and completely down the middle, the surrounding earth shaking at her feet like a scream at the end of time. And, for a moment, a memory, older than her time in the Carnivalle resurfaced, and she was a child again, alone and afraid.
But no. That crack had been below the Earth; not above it.
It would take her months, many, many months before the Seer found herself at the source of that crack. She crossed a river full of the souls of tragedy. Some of the ghosts, clad in armor with unsheathed swords, begged for her help, but she saw past them to the point of their violent sins, and paid them no heed. The others, of a more simple, peaceful nature simply watched. Luna nodded to them as she passed.
The town had grown significantly since the Seer had last been there. How many years ago was that? She’d been young then. Smaller. Perhaps around 14?
She set up shop by a tree near the edge of town---just a blanket draped over a low-hanging branch, really, and a small sign reading, ‘Fortune Teller’. And, she waited for rumors of a woman as pale of a ghost to circulate around town.
Oh, she already knew he was still there. But, Luna always liked the idea of old friends visiting her, rather than the other way around.
