A NEW OLD WORD

TIL that "awk" is a word. It means bad or wrong. If "toward" means "the right way," "awkward" means the wrong way!

Conjobble -  To have a good natter with someone over a bite to eat

Defenestration - Throwing someone out of the window

Overtomorrow - The day after tomorrow

Ereyesterday - The day Before yesterday

Yerd - To beat someone with a stick

Hitherto -  Until now or until the point in time under discussion

Cornobble - To hit with a fish

Ought -  Used to indicate duty or correctness, typically when criticizing someone's actions

Hither and Thither -  In various directions, especially in a disorganized way

Vacuousness -  Lacking intelligence; stupid or empty-headed

Ephemeral - Lasting a short amount of time

Sempiternal - Everlasting time

Sternutation - The act of sneezing 

Vexatious -  Causing or tending to cause annoyance, frustration, or worry

Unctuous -  Excessively or ingratiatingly flattering

Selcouth -  Odd, unusual, or extraordinary in appearance, effect, manner, etc

Visage -  A person's face, with reference to the form or proportions of the features

Churlish -  Rude in a mean-spirited and surly way

Diaphanous -  Light, delicate, and translucent

"The surname Akari is derived from a form of the word karys ( meaning: fire, flames ). Unlike the original word which describes literal fire, the name describes someone who is "fiery" in temperament."
